À LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Maleck Volcy
It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Maleck Volcy, who bravely battled multiple myeloma for three years. Despite the pain and tough treatments, he faced each day with incredible strength. Maleck passed away peacefully on the morning of March 24, surrounded by his loving wife, Imrana, and their children, Nyla, Bilaal, and Raheel.
His life was all about his family and his passion for coaching. He always encouraged his players to dream big and pursue their goals, no matter how impossible they seemed. His impact will live on through the many lives he touched.
Maleck was loved by his parents, Yves and Marie Lourdes Volcy, his brother Garcia, and by Imrana’s entire family. The love and respect he built within his family and community will never fade. May he rest in peace, and may his resilience and kindness continue to inspire us all.

Malgré la douleur et les traitements difficiles, il a affronté chaque jour avec une force incroyable. Maleck was a beautiful soul with a smile that would light up any room! He will live on through his family and coaching community.
My deepest condolences to his family, friends and young athletes he mentored.
Maleck, it was always a pleasure coming into work and knowing you had my back. Joking around with you, hearing about your children, seeing the love and respect you had for Imrana… I learned more from you than you may have known. My heart goes out to you, Imrana, and your children at this time. The world has lost a good man. Be at peace, Maleck.
Hello Imrana and family
I will share my favourite quote on grief, who is also a daily companion for me. It is from President Joe Biden:
“There will come a day, I promise you …… when the thought of your son or daughter or your husband or wife brings a smile to your lips before it brings a tear to your eye. It will happen. My prayer for you is that day will come sooner or later. But the only thing I have more experience than you in is this: I’m telling you it will come.”
Much love from Andrea xx
I had the privilege of working alongside Maleck, and I will always cherish the bond we built during our Blanket Exercise. His kindness, strength, and dedication left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. Maleck’s spirit lives on in the lives he touched, his beautiful family and Imrana. Repose en paix, mon cher ami.
What an incredible loss to humankind. Maleck was an epitome of altruism and self-sacrifice, always willing to lend a helping hand and to lead, genuine and kind all through his short life. A great inspiration and positive presence. A dedicated dad and husband and a role model for many of us who knew him. As a man of courage, he remained strong and positive to the very last. We will miss Maleck dearly as we share our heart felt condolences to his wonderful family. We have you all in our prayers. May his gentle soul find peace with his maker and may his many legacies endure. Farewell Dear Friend, Farewell.
I never had the privilege to work with Maleck but I had the honour to work and know his beautiful wife and to me his lovely and amazing children. You know an honourable man by the way his family looks up to him; how he takes care of them and also his community.
He will be sorely missed but his spirit and “joie de vivre” will live on.
To Nyla, Bilaal, and Raheel; I know this is a sad stage….but know that your dad lives in your hearts and he will be a driving force…he will be with you each step of the way.
To Imrana; your children will remind you of his greatness and remind you of the best times. He will remain with you in your heart.
May God keep you all through this challenging transition. I hope that with God’s glory you will all find peace.
Maleck gave me and my team conditional training when I was I in youth soccer, and ever since then I’ve managed to run in to him and chat every now and then at games and tournaments. I will always be greatful to Maleck for the many tips and advices he gave me, he put me on track to achieve my dream of playing varsity soccer. I’m really going to miss our occasional chats on the sidelines and I will never forget the impact he has had on my journey. I send my heartfelt condolences to Bilaal and his family.
Condolences to my brother Maleck and the entire Volcy family. He was more than a friend to me he was and continue to be a brother that had the privilege to spend some time with through this journey we call life. I can not put into words the impact he had on my life. He was a true warrior that persevered and did not understand the word quit since it was not in his vocabulary. We shared many moments reflecting on life kids family and the wisdom he imparted was second to none. I will continue to honor his legacy by his example of being a great person helping those in need giving as much as I can give in this life has he did. Thank Maleck rest in power and until next time.
Toutes mes condoléances Imrana, Nyla, Bilaal, Raheel et toute la famille. C’était un plaisir de travailler avec lui, de le croiser dans les couloirs du 10 Rideau. Que sont âme repose en paix.
Good morning. It’s sad to see him go. I was excited to coach with him this year. It was sad to her that he is gone. I wanted to send out my condolences to the family. And I’m sad to not be there.
We’ are blessed to have known you, we will forever hold on to the memories, the conversations and the laughter. And for everything you have done for Lina, we are forever thankful. You will be missed but not forgotten.

I was so sad to hear that coach Male k passed away. He was a fighter. I had the privilege of coaching with him and getting to know him, chatting about sports, kids and life. He loved his family!!! He had a deep passion for sports and community. He was part of a dying breed of authentic and unselfish coaches. For Maleck, teaching the game was equal to teaching life. He wasn’t just coaching football —he was instilling lessons that went beyond the field. He was the kind of person who always kept us grounded, reminding us to stay ten toes down, whether it was game day or practice. His commitment to teaching the game was unmatched. No matter what he was going through, even chemotherapy, he showed up for his players and for the game he loved.
Rest in peace, my brother. Your impact won’t be forgotten. Today, many of the kids he coached and trained showed up to his funeral and celebration of life. It truly shows the man and coach he was and how much he meant to so many young lives. It will not be the same without him on the field, but he will be with us in mind and spirit. After the funeral, Troy and I picked up some boba tea in honor of Coach Malek, and we will traditionally grab one every other weekend per his rule. Rest in Peace coach 🧋🏈 🕊️
Maleck was always smiling and upbeat. I can still hear his laughter. My deepest sympathy to the entire family, especially Irmana and the kids.
Dearest Imrana and Family. Sending you my deepest condolences.
When I think of Maleck, I remember an incredible storyteller, we shared many Montreal stories, as I too grew up in Montreal. He had a million-dollar smile, and the heartiest belly-laugh. He often spoke so proudly of his children and the pride he took in coaching. RIP, Malek.
Sending so much love to you and your family, Imrana. My thoughts are with you all.
