It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Laurier Wifred Carrière on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the age of 81, at the Ottawa Hospital-General Campus.

He was the beloved husband of the late Sandra Carrière and life companion of Marguerite Landriault. In addition to his partner, he is survived by his dear children Sherry Bourbonnais (Keith) and Michel Carrière (the late Lynn Girouard). He will also be missed by his beloved grandchildren, Maghan, Bradley, Kyle Bourbonnais, Nicolas and Valerie Girouard, as well as by his brothers, sisters, nephews, nieces and many friends, including Hélène Rivest (Laurent Renaud), who over time became an adopted daughter to him.

Laurier had the opportunity to expand his family through his relationship with Marguerite. He also leaves Anne-Marie Landriault (Jacques), Lucie, Yves, Diane, Jocelyne Legault (Normand) and their children Talie Landriault, David (Cloé), Martin and Marie-Pier Legault.

The family invites relatives and friends to the Heritage Funeral Complex located at 1250 Trim Road, Orléans, ON on Friday, August 15, 2025 from 10 a.m. A memorial service will be held in the chapel of the same location at 11 a.m.

In Laurier’s memory, donations to the Ottawa Hospital – Respirology Clinics would be appreciated.

A forever friend to Elaine and a brother-in-arms to Laurier Carriere, he leaves behind a void that will be felt by many but filled with memories that will forever evoke smiles and chuckles.

In the spirit of Laurier’s love for comedy, he would want us to remember him with a quote from the legendary Bob Hope: « I don’t feel old. I don’t feel anything until noon. Then it’s time for my nap. » True to form, Laurier never let the trivialities of age slow him down, and he would often quip that his secret to staying young was a strict regimen of enjoying mornings and embracing naps.

Laurier was a man who could fix anything, from a leaky faucet to a sour mood. His toolbox was filled with gadgets and gizmos, each accompanied by a funny story or a witty remark. He was the calm in every storm, and the chuckle in every conversation.

As we bid farewell to Laurier, let’s honor his memory by living life with a dash of humor, a touch of kindness, and an endless supply of love. He may have left the stage, but his one-liners, his warmth, and his unique ability to turn the mundane into the extraordinary will remain with us always.

So here’s to M. Laurier—a man who taught us that laughter truly is the best tool in the shed. May his jokes continue to echo, and his legacy inspire chuckles for generations to come. Rest in peace, dear Laurier, and may your next adventure be as joyous and laughter-filled as the life you’ve shared with us all.
