À LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Jacques D. Malette

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Jacques D. Malette, who left this world peacefully on December 10, 2025 at the age of 81. Born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, Jacques lived a life marked by kindness, quiet strength, and unwavering dedication to the people he cared about. He was known for his love of life, his sharp sense of humour and his ability to make everyone around him feel valued.

He leaves behind Andrée, his devoted wife of 60 years, his daughter Christine (Michael), his daughter-in-law Sheryl, and his beloved granddaughters Nicole, Kayla and Ava, who adored their grand-papa and who will forever remember his patience, guidance and the love he gave so freely. He is also survived by his sister Marielle (Luke) and his niece Jaclyn and nephews Neal, and Eric. He is predeceased by his son Stéphane and parents Jacqueline and Doris.

Jacques spent his career as a CPA, where he earned the respect of colleagues and the gratitude of the many clients he served, some who became close friends over the years. He worked with the province as an auditor and founded his own practice, a successful accounting firm in Ottawa. Outside of his work, he found joy in golf, travel to Florida with Andrée, and an appreciation for life’s simple pleasures. Jacques was a man who revelled in a good story and a glass of scotch with those he loved most. Whether he was sharing a laugh, offering a word of wisdom, or simply listening with genuine interest, he had a way of making people feel at ease and truly seen. Jacques will be deeply missed but his warmth, generosity and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

A memorial service for immediate family only will be held in the near future.

Chris, so sorry to hear that your Father has passed. Our condolences to you and your family. Thinking of you at this difficult time. Hugs from Roseanne & Richard.

Jacques: I remember you coming to pick me up and drive me to the office on Laurier Avenue West right before you and Advantage Parking hired me to help with the books. You were always smiling, joking and helping me with my French. I remember kidnapping your puppy and pretending he was mine. Then I babysat him for a week when you and Andrée went away. I will miss coming to the office and visiting you when you were there. May you be reunited with your beloved Stéphane and rest peacefully together. Andrée, I can’t imagine the pain and grief in your heart. Please take care of yourself. To the rest of the Malette family and all of Jacques’ close friends: my sincere condolences to you all. He will be missed.
