À LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Ignatius Leron

Born in 1943 in Delices, Dominica, Ignatius passed away on Sunday, June 8, 2025 at the age of 82 years. Beloved husband of 10 years to Francisca Leron. Loving father of Billy (Gwen), Brian (Katia) and Richard. Cherished grandfather of Deion, Draye, Naomi and Jayla. Ignatius was preceded in death by his first wife, Glynis (nee James) Leron, in 2013 and his grandson Kyle in 2010. He will be sadly missed by his sisters: Philomen Christian and Veronica Ishmael from Boston Massachusetts, as well as his nephews, nieces, extended family and friends. He will be remembered for his long, decorated career in the public service, and as a lifelong fan and player of the sport of cricket. We will also never forget his strength and unwavering faith in the Lord. The family will receive relatives and friends at Community Pentecostal Church, 1825 St. Joseph Blvd., Orleans, on June 20, from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm. Funeral Service to follow at 1 pm, followed by interment at Dale Cemetery, Cumberland.  In lieu of flowers, donations to Maison de l’Est would be appreciated.

Condoléances

To Bill and the rest of the family, sending my deepest sympathies on the loss of your dad, I got to know him while he was at Alta Vista. May cherished memories bring you comfort at this time. God bless 🙏

To the Leron family my condolences in the loss of your father! I was his neighbour for many years and I remember doing his hair way back and became good friends with him and Glynis!

Our heartfelt condolences to Francisca, the children and the Leron family! Ignatius was a remarkable person who touched many through his dedication, integrity, and compassion for people. May the peace of the Lord be with you and may you find comfort in the many memories of his numerous contributions and the lives he touched throughout his life.

To the Leron family in Ottawa and Boston. My sympathies go out to you all. He was my neighbour for 16 years, and a good, kind hearted gentleman. He treated some of us to Belgium chocolates, when he returned from his European trips. Thank you Philomen for sending over some good home cooking, when you came to visit. I have good memories of Ignatius and Glynis and later with Francisca, and his Boston family. My thoughts are with you all.

To his family, sorry for your loss…Mr. Leron was my favorite junior high school teacher at Goodwill School in Dominica..We reconnected in Canada and I was honored to have him as my best man 45 yrs ago. He was a pillar not only of physical strength but also spiritual. I learned alot from him at school and in life. RIP Mr. Leron.
