À LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Claudette Marie Bertin

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our cherished mother, Claudette Marie Bertin. She died peacefully at home on December 5, 2025, after a very courageous battle with cancer. Claudette is survived by her three loving and devoted daughters: Ann Hendrickson (Tom), Christiane Fillion (Fern), and Debbie Vincent (Stuart). She was a much-loved grandmother to Devin (Chung), Kaitlyn (Chris), and Adysan (Mat), and a proud great-grandmother “Nana Bertin” to Cayden, Owen, and Leo, her three precious boys whom she absolutely adored. She was also eagerly awaiting the arrival of her fourth great-grandchild in June. Claudette opened her heart with ease and generosity, embracing Katrina (Jason) and Tiffany as her own granddaughters. She was the beloved sister of Sylvia, Huguette,  Suzanne, Michel, Emile, and Anni, and will be deeply missed by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends whose lives she touched in countless ways. She is now reunited with the love of her life, Mava Bromley, her treasured grandson Branson Vincent, and the fur babies she held so dearly. Claudette was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and   Catherine Bertin, as well as her siblings Muriel, Elmina,  Rodrigue, and Danny.

Our mother was a strong and courageous woman who lived her truth without apology. She taught us the power of authenticity, the importance of standing up for what you believe in, and the beauty of living a life guided by integrity and love.

We are deeply grateful to the Thompson family for the kindness and warmth they showed our mother, and for giving her the chance to spend her last years at the lake—a place she cherished. It was her sanctuary, her happy place, and it filled her days with joy.

As per her wishes, there will be no service. A small private burial will take place this summer in Elliot Lake.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Ottawa Humane Society.

Condoléances

Claudette you will be missed.
I met Claudette in Elliot Lake many years ago while working at Panel Mine. Not only was an experience working at the mine but also meeting Claudette. She helped me improved my English. Even though we didn’t see each other often, we were in touch by the Young & Restless. Great memories.
Gone but not forgotten.
🙏 may your soul rest in peace

My sweet ma tante Claudette.. You brought me joy and always made me laugh. I will miss the conversations we had when visiting, you had a way to say things making us feel comfortable and subjects interesting. You had a big heart and lots of love to share. You will be missed.
