It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of our beloved Alida Gapopo. Alida passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2026, in Ottawa/Ontario.
Family, friends, and colleagues are warmly invited to join us in honoring and celebrating Alida’s life at Heritage Funeral Complex on Saturday, March 14, 2026. Address: 1250 Trim Rd, Orléans, ON.
Visitation: Heritage Funeral Complex from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.
Chapel Ceremony: Heritage Funeral Complex Chapel at 11 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
Burial: Beechwood cemetery following the Ceremony in the Chapel
Reception: Following the burial at Beechwood, a celebration of life will be held at Camelot Golf & Country Club at 2:30 p.m. Address: 906 Quigley Hill Rd, Ottawa, ON.

I had the great pleasure of working with Alida for close to four years, and in that time she became someone I will never forget. She was a beautiful, kind, soft-spoken young lady with such a gentle presence. She made me laugh so many times, and she was always thoughtful and so full of love and life.
I truly enjoyed working with her—talking with her and just spending time together during our days. Those simple moments meant a lot. She had a way of making conversations feel easy and warm, and I will always remember the laughter and the great talks we shared.
She will be missed tremendously, and I honestly cannot find the right words to express the sadness I feel over her loss. She was far too young to leave this world, and far too beautiful a soul for something like this to happen.
I will miss her deeply, but the memories I carry of her will always be filled with laughter and the wonderful conversations we had. She was one of the sweetest people I’ve known—a vibrant, loving young woman who brought light to those around her.
She will be missed tremendously, and the world truly feels like a sadder place without her in it. I will always remember her. 💔
