À LA DOUCE MÉMOIRE DE Susan Ann Hedger
December 3, 1952 – November 16, 2025
It is with much sadness that I announce the passing of my spouse, best friend and soulmate of 45 years, Susan Ann Hedger. Susan passed peacefully on Sunday, November 16th, surrounded by her loving family.
She is survived by her husband of 37 years Roger Beauchamp, her sisters Sandra King (Fred), Sheila Hedger (Sally Butler) and many nieces, nephews and close friends.
Sue battled her cancer with a positive attitude and at times with humour and was always ready to console others. Sue was a graphic artist for the Federal Government Finance Department for 34 years and a lifetime lover of animals, a combination that brought her by chance to design the logo for the Ottawa Humane Society. She always looked forward to her yearly “girls only” cruise with sister Sandra, niece Melinda and friend Marilyn.
Thank you to the nurses of the 5th and 6th floors at the Ottawa Hospital General Campus for taking good care of Sue during her many stays. A special thank you to palliative care doctor, Dr. Daniel Vincent and to the many hard-working nurses and volunteers at La Maison de L’Est Hospice who made sure that Sue’s passing was done with dignity and peacefully.
A celebration of life will take place at a later date with the immediate family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Humane Society would be greatly appreciated.

Gone, but never far from our hearts. Deepest sympathy for your loss.

My best friend and my Sister Sue. Doesn’t get much closer than that. I will love you forever and you will always be with me. I cannot believe how many amazing memories we made together over the years. From that little pain in the ass baby sister to the feisty, strong person that I fell in love with. You never let anything get in the way of a good time:-). From our trips to Toronto to visit Irene and Harry to our Girls Trips to Vegas and beyond. Our many cruises in the NCL Haven will forever be etched in my memory. I miss you…….
A sad passing for the family. A donation in her honour was made to the Ottawa Humane Society.

Susan and I were the closest of friends for many years. So close in fact, that we referred to ourselves as the Bobbsey Twins, having had so many similar life experiences. A friendship that lasts for 50 years ìs based on trust and love. « We’re like two peas in a pod! » Sue would say..Death, you won’t end this relationship. It will be different, but will last forever. A donation will be sent to the OHS.
Sue, your fun filled, kind and loving spirit was a trade make of your time with us. It is a promise that we will cherish all those memories, they will be honoured and forever remember the sheer joy you brought to our lives.
RIP our friend, we will take it from here on your behalf.
With our love and respect,
Marlene and Al

Dearest Sue, we will miss your humour and your beautiful smile, your positive attitude, no matter what the universe threw at you. You were a diamond bright light!
Dearest Roger, we are all here for you, whatever you need.
We are so fortunate that we shared so many Baton Rouge lunches, the four of us. OMG the laughter we shared together!
Always thought we had one more lunch together ……
Love always, Blair and Janice
