It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Kathleen “Kathy” Hussey (née LeClair), surrounded by her family, on August 19, 2025.

Kathy loved her family deeply. She had a gentle, kind, and sweet demeanour, as well as an elegance that touched everyone who knew her. Born and raised in Ottawa, Ontario, she lived a full and meaningful life.

Her favourite pastime was cooking for family and friends. She also loved creating art through quilting, silk painting, and drawing. Sewing for her family was one of her greatest joys.

Kathy’s professional career began in administration and advanced into forensics and management during her 36 years at RCMP Headquarters in Ottawa.

Daughter of the late John Wilfred LeClair and Anne LeClair (née Fleming). Predeceased by her siblings Bill LeClair, Jim LeClair, Betty Brazeau, Pat Coulter, Ruth Rawlins, and Lillian Summers.

Kathy leaves behind her devoted husband of 45 years, Michael Hussey, as well as her beloved children: Kelly Blakeney (Mark), Tracey Brown (Dan), Ivan Brown (Nicolina), Joanne Hussey (Doug), and Leo Hussey (Kim). She will be deeply missed by her cherished grandchildren Michelle Kirkes (Aaron), Mitchell Robitaille (Michelle), Griffin Brown (Caitlin), Cayden Brown, Liam Clapp, Brenna Clapp, and Kieran Hussey, along with her great-grandchildren Jackson, Amelia, and Ivy.

She will also be fondly remembered by her sister Peggy Meloche, brother-in-law Bob Hussey (Sherry), lifelong best friends Ray and Lisette Donovan, and her many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 632, 800 Taylor Creek Dr., Orleans, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Montfort Hospital ICU for their compassionate care.

In lieu of flowers, donations to The Canadian Lung Association in Kathy’s memory would be greatly appreciated.

I am so deeply sorry for the family’s loss. There are no words that can truly ease the pain of losing someone so integral to the family.
My fondest memory includes anything that made Kathy laugh — It was a reflection of the beautiful, kind, and sweet soul that she was. Anyone who met her felt the genuine goodness in her heart, and the world feels a little dimmer without her in it.
Please know I am sending all my thoughts and warm hugs.
Katherine

Kathy was a fantastic person. very caring & dedicated to her family. I met Kathy at the RCMP & our friendship continued into retirement. Kathy’s patience with me , while trying to guide me through a quilting project, was great. Always a coffee & homemade treat when I dropped over. Kathy will be missed. I hope memories help you during this difficult time.
Most sincere sympathy.
