In Memory of Rosarii Yetman (née Buckle)

Rosarii Yetman, nee Buckle, passed peacefully at home with her family by her side, at the age of 71 years. She is survived by her husband Don, (just short of 47 years married), her beautiful daughter Jen, her amazing son, Michael, and her cherished grandson, Wyatt.

She is survived by 3 sisters, Gaye, Ellie and Sheila and 1 brother, Albert. She is predeceased by 2 brothers, Kevin and Brian, and her very good friend Edie Helsby. She will be sadly missed by numerous friends, neighbours, and a large family of nieces, nephews and cousins in Ontario, and Atlantic Canada, mostly Newfoundland.

Rosarii had dreamed of being a Registered Nurse since her youth and during her years as a patient in Toronto’s Sick Kids hospital in the early 60’s. She achieved that dream when she graduated from the St. John’s General School of Nursing in 1975.

Rosarii was a great mother and, along with her professional career, she became a strong advocate for supports and programing through her work with the Ontario Autism Society

She loved her gardens and pets, especially Bosco. She loved having friends and neighbours over for Canada Day and New Years Eve celebration parties. Her house was always open to anyone, and it was a popular spot for Jen and her friends throughout their school years.

Rosarii also loved to travel, with Varadero, Cuba being one of her favourite destinations. She always liked talking to the local people and hearing stories about their lives. She also loved the beaches and the refreshments!

All are invited to celebrate Rosarii’s life on Tuesday July 29th, from 2 pm to 5 pm at the Heritage Funeral Home at 1250 Trim Road, Orleans. A separate Celebration of Life will be held in St. John’s NL on Sunday , Aug 3rd from 1pm to 5pm at the St. John’s Elks Club, 19 Carpasian Road, St. John’s NL.

The family expresses its deepest thanks to the Ottawa General Hospital, Oncology staff  5 East, the Orleans Palliative Care Home team, and Bayshore Home Health for their great care and support through a very difficult time.

Rosarii would like us all to remember the good times and good people we meet through life, and to care for those people who struggle through life’s ups and downs.

My condolences to don and family rosarii passing she was a good mother to mike and jen and will always be remembered by family and friends

Rosarii was the perfect blend of kindness and strength, always smiling and completely genuine in every way. There are so many years of wonderful memories in both Newfoundland and Ottawa, it would be impossible to choose just one. Our families have been connected over decades through the McAllisters and Portugal Cove, I guess we were always meant to be part of each other’s lives, and for this I am forever grateful. I have attached one of my favourite photos of Rosarii with Kat and Bella from 2011. We were in Ottawa and it was just a beautiful day splashing about in the pool, sipping coffee, chatting and laughing. Well, I guess I was able to choose a favourite memory after-all. 😞 Sending much love and hugs to all, but especially to Don, Jen, Mike and Wyatt. Thinking of you, Paula, Ian, Kat and Bella Florey (nee) McAllister
