In Memory of Robert Boudreau
Passed away on Tuesday, September 16th, 2025 at the age of 82.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Claudette Boudreau (nee Sullivan), his daughter, Michele Wahler (Thomas Wahler), and his son, Rob Boudreau. His grandchildren, Kaitlyn (Katie) Wahler and Jordan Wahler, were his pride and joy.
He also cherished his many nieces and nephews and loved hearing updates about their lives. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Aline Boudreau, who was married to his late brother, Paul Boudreau. Aline held a very special place in his heart.
Robert was the youngest of four siblings, all of whom predeceased him: Terry, Paul, and Nola Trites. He was also predeceased by his parents, Justine and Albenie Boudreau.
He was a proud Maritimer, born in Moncton, NB. He graduated Magna Cumlate from the University of Moncton in 1967 with a Bachelor’s of Honours degree in Commerce. In 1972, he moved to Queenswood Heights with his wife and daughter, where he began a career with the Federal Government that spanned more than 25 years. Throughout his life, Robert loved returning to Dieppe with his family and always carried the spirit of the East Coast and his deep love of the ocean in his heart.
Robert began losing his vision as a young adult but remained an active athlete throughout his life. He played basketball in high school, was an avid jogger, and later joined the Ottawa Blind Hockey Team, where he played for many years. He served as treasurer for the Ottawa Blind Curlers for over 15 years. Curling was a true passion, and he proudly competed with the Ottawa Blind Curlers, who advanced to the provincial level on several occasions. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to all of his teammates and coaches, whose support and care made it possible for him to continue curling until his passing.
He was a lifelong fan of the Montreal Canadiens and the Boston Red Sox, while also celebrating the wins of the Toronto Blue Jays. A man of simple pleasures, he especially enjoyed his weekly coffee meetups with friends at Tim Hortons. Robert collected stamps, followed politics closely, and was known for his gentle soul and strong sense of social justice. He loved spending time with his family and listening to music. His children and grandchildren—Michele, Rob, Katie, and Jordan—were all influenced by his musical tastes and continue to enjoy his beloved oldies.
The family would like to thank the Ottawa Paramedics and the staff at the Ottawa Civic Hospital, including the Medical Radiation Technologists, doctors, and nurses, for the compassionate care they provided to him and to our family.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd., Ottawa (Orléans), on Friday, September 26th, 2025 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. A Memorial Service in honour of Robert will take place in the Heritage Chapel at 12 p.m., followed by a reception where a light lunch will be served.
In lieu of flowers, donations to the Bruyère Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
Bob was a great friend to our family . We remember fondly the beginning of summer trips to Fish Creek pond in the USA as the official start of the summer holidays. Those camping trips were legendary and we all still speak of them as the best times we enjoyed with the families from the ladies group. Those people will know who I’m talking about. Bob surmounted many challenges in his life and I know from my perspective he always kept his sense of humour. His friends, and I include myself, will miss his observations and sense of humour.
I(Maurice), have so many good memories of time spent with you(Babs) when I was young and also our monthly phone calls, as adult men.
Unfortunately we will be unable to attend Babs’s Service.
Claudette,Michelle & Rob, you are in our thoughts & prayers during these trying times.
Hope you will find solace in knowing that Babs will be looking over you all
Love Bernice & Maurice Boudreau

My husband and I knew Bob from the Ottawa Blind Curlers. He was always a calm and soft spoken man who loved to share stories about the East Coast but especially about his love for the prized crustaceans know as lobsters.
