Love Never Fails
Rick Doyle, of Orleans, Ontario, crossed his last covered bridge in Hospital, with family by his side. Born in Geraldton, Ontario, he was the best friend and beloved husband of Sharron (née DeCourcey). Loving father of Theresa (Steve Sippert) of Orleans. He was a loving grandpa to Stephanie (Karim Zeineddine), Alex, Emma and Connor (Alexa Sproll), and great-grampa to Olivia and Stella. Predeceased by son Sean in 2011. Brother of Judy Price (George) of Hespeler, and the late David (2016) (Susan Miller of NS), inlaws Cyril and Suann DeCourcey of Winnipeg, Zona Bovingdon (the late Ted) of Fredericton, the late Zeta and Fred Baxter of Fredericton, Harold and Dawn DeCourcey of Fredericton, the late Tony and Freda DeCourcey of Fredericton, Dorothy Keays of Halifax, Sandie Bender (late John), Marianne Gissler and numerous nephews, nieces, family and extended marriage encounter family are left to mourn him. Predeceased by his parents Kenneth and Stella Doyle.
Rick worked for years in the Federal Government (Canadian Army, UIC & DSS), but his happiest time was in retirement, with half of each year spent in Florida.
Friends may pay their respects at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orleans on Saturday, January 17th from 1:30PM until the time of a Memorial Service at 2:30PM in the Chapel. Reception to follow. A Private Family Committal of his remains will take place in Spring 2026 at St. Raphael Cemetery in Glengarry County.

We will always remember Rick’s devotion to his family as husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. His unfaltering optimism was also one of his outstanding characteristics. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
We have known Rick almost 40 years through marriage encounter and we will miss this gentle giant. They don’t come any better than Rick and we have so many wonderful memories of any time we spent with Rick and Sharron. We appreciate the gift you have been in our lives. May he rest in peace as he watches over his loved ones.

When I was quite young he wrote something in my autograph book. Many years later I asked this sage man what it meant. He looked at me, smiled and told it was nonsense and apologized. I still laugh when I think of all the years I tried to figure out what the meaning.
