In Memory of Réjean Chevalier

_______________

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Réjean Chevalier, who left us on April 23, 2025, at the age of 67. A loving partner, dad, grandpa, papi, friend, and cousin, he leaves an immense void in our lives. He was the son of the late Maximilienne Laurin and the late René Chevalier. He now joins in peace his brother Richard and his sister Gisèle, who left us far too soon. He is survived by his beloved partner, Sylvie (Babydou), and his children: Caroline, Dominique (Justine), Philippe, Mélanie (André), Nicolas (Jessica), and Véronik (Marc-André). He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Blake, Brooke, Blaire, Emi, Camille, Florence, Julien, Alexy, Jake, Mia, Luka, Rosalie, and Liam.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Mélanie, his favorite nurse, for the compassionate care she provided until the very end.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, May 1st at noon at the Héritage Funeral Complex, located at 1250 Trim Road. The family will receive condolences beginning at 10:00 a.m.

In memory of Réjean, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or to Montfort Hospital

I pass on my sincere condolences to Rejean’s family. Rejean and I often played together during our childhood and I remember him working at the City of Ottawa when I was with the Health Department on Centrepoint.

Our condolences to Sylvie and family. Rejean was a good friend and co-worker. He always talked about the kids and grand children and had many pictures of his family at his desk.

My sincerest condolences to Sylvie and the family. I had the pleasure and honour to work with Réjean at the City of Ottawa for several years. He spoke of his family often and would always ask me about mine. He will be dearly missed by many of us here at the City.

Mes sympathies.

We wish to pass along our condolences to Sylvie and the family on the passing of Rejean…a father, a grandfather, a husband, a friend, a companion and so much more to so many…a great loss to any family!
It was truly a pleasure working with Rejean at the City of Ottawa.
Hoping your treasured memories bring you comfort day by day. It will be the little things that you remember, the quiet moments, the smiles and the laughter. Although it may appear hard right now, it will be all of those memories that will help to push the pain of the loss away and bring back the smiles again.
Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers – our heartfelt sympathy!
Wishing you only the best,
Kent & Lianne

My sincere condolences to everyone. A classmate and friend from the past. R.I.P. Reg.

Many condolences for your loss. To Rejean’s children and his beautiful wife…thank you for sharing him with his “City” family. I only had the privilege of knowing him for the past several years but I am thankful for that time. He spoke of all of you often and fondly. He was the best colleague and the kindest soul. He shared his years of experience and wisdom, gently if asked. I am the gal who took his blood oxygen levels at work one day. I am sad that you have lost this gentle leader in your family. My prayers are with you. I am sharing a photo of the last time I saw “Reggie” as Ron taught me to call him. The thousands of City employees that he pulled out of jams over the years are also thankful for his help. I couldn’t be there today, I had medical duties with my children, terribly sorry to have not met you all and honoured Réjean in person but he shared the love for family and being there for them so I know he is giving me a nod from above. Been missing his laughter and sense of humour at work since he retired so I cannot even imagine your sorrow.

It is a sad news hearing that Rej passed away too soon. Couldn’t get to see him one more time after he retired. Condolences to the family from Joseph Mathew and Glorymol John.
