In Memory of Peter Quinn

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter Quinn on March 07^th at the age of 77 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He passed away peacefully, his loving wife by his side. He is predeceased by his parents Richard and Dolores (née Reinhold) and his brothers William and James.

Peter was the beloved husband of Marie-France Gauthier and the loving father of Michael (Mihaela).  He was the adoring grandfather (grand-papa) to Ethan and Elliot. 

He will also be missed by his sisters-in-law Isabelle and Linda, nieces Kelly and Megan, nephews Matthew and Scott as well as cousins and friends.

Peter was born in Montreal on October 27^th, 1947. He spent his summers growing up at his family’s cottage on Lac de I’Achigan and his spare time thereafter. He worked as an Information Technology Specialist most of his life.

Peter enjoyed bowling, fishing, winemaking and has loved cooking and eating foods of various ethnicities. His motto has always been “So much food, so little time”.

We would like to thank the Palliative Care caregivers, nurses and doctors of the Home and Community Care Support Services Champlain, the Ottawa Hospital Cancer Center and Chapel Hill Retirement Home that took very good care of Peter.

Friends and family are invited to join a visitation at 10 am and service to follow at 11:30 am on April 6^th 2025, at Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd. Orléans, Ontario K4A 3P7.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Canadian Cancer Center or The War Amps.

C’est avec le cœur lourd que nous annonçons le décès de Peter Quinn le 7 mars à l’âge de 77 ans après une longue et courageuse bataille contre le cancer. Il s’est éteint paisiblement, son épouse aimante à ses côtés. Il fût précédé par ses parents Richard et Dolores (née Reinhold) et ses frères William et James.

Peter était l’époux bien-aimé de Marie-France Gauthier et le père aimant de Michael (Mihaela).  Il était le grand-père adoré d’Ethan et d’Elliot. 

Peter est né à Montréal le 27 octobre 1947. Pendant son enfance, il passe ses étés au chalet familial du lac de I’Achigan et ses temps libres par la suite. Il a travaillé comme spécialiste des technologies de l’information pendant la majeure partie de sa vie.

Peter aimait jouer aux quilles, pêcher, faire du vin et il adorait cuisiner et manger des aliments de diverses ethnies. Sa devise a toujours été « Tant de nourriture, si peu de temps ».

Nous tenons à remercier les soignants en soins palliatifs, les infirmières et les médecins des Services de soutien à domicile et en milieu communautaire Champlain, du Centre de cancérologie de l’Hôpital d’Ottawa et de la maison de retraite Chapel Hill, qui ont pris grand soin de Peter.

Les amis et la famille sont invités à se joindre à une visite à 10 h et au service qui suivra à 11 h 30 le 6 avril 2025, au Complexe funéraire, 1250 rue Trim, Orléans, Ontario K4A 3P7.

Au lieu de fleurs, des dons peuvent être faits au Centre canadien du cancer ou aux Amputés de guerre.
