In Memory of Michel Prest

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michel Prest, our beloved brother, brother-in-law, uncle, great-uncle and friend, who left us peacefully on June 9th, 2025, after a brief illness.
Mike was an amazing man who lived a life full of love, laughter, great courage and cherished memories, gracing everyone he met with his warmth and big beautiful smile. Even though he faced many challenges since his birth, he never let that hardship define his life.

Born on May 9th 1956, in Ottawa, Michel was the cherished son of the late Alfred Prest and Marguerite Prest (née Dupont).
He is survived by his sister Lucille (late Maurice Cholette), sister Diane (Richard Hagley) as well as many nieces, nephews and friends.
He was also predeceased by his brothers Roger, Maurice, Marcel, Léo, Lionel, Gérard (Gisèle Lapointe), André (Ann Heron) and sister Claudette.

Michel had great love for his family, friends, bowling and socializing, which brought him endless happiness and filled his heart with joy.
Throughout his life, Mike was known for his unwavering strength and courage.
A private celebration of life will be held by the family at a later date.

To honour Michel, the family requests donations be made in his memory to the centre d’accueil Roger-Séguin, 435 Lemay Street in Clarence Creek K0A 1N0, where he spent the last 5 years of his life. We are forever grateful to the special staff of Roger-Séguin for their dedication as well as the kind, compassionate care and support they provided. We also wish to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated nurses and doctors at the General Hospital, whose compassionate care provided comfort during Michel’s final hours. Their kindness and professionalism were a source of solace during a difficult time.

As we bid farewell, we remember him as a shining light, a kind soul, quick with a joke and full of fun loving laughter. While he may have departed from this world, his spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched, reminding us to love deeply, laugh often, and cherish every moment. Rest in peace le frère. You will forever be missed. Your life was a blessing and we thank you for making our world a better place just by being in it.

I’m sorry for your lost Diane and family ….Michel was special man and Wil always be remembered in your heart

Diane, Richard and family. We are so sad to hear of Mike’s passing. He was the first ray of sunshine (and yourself ❤️) to greet my mom when she moved to Roger Seguin. He knew she was sad and would stop in every day often more than once to talk with her, watch tv or just say hi! He stood out as the kind gentle person that he was. We are so grateful that we met him and got to spend time with him. Mike Prez! The last gift my mom wanted made for him. ❤️
The world was a better place with him in it.
Sending all our love. You have no limits now Mike. We will miss you ❤️‍🩹
