In Memory of Marissa Maristela

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Marissa Maristela on March 18, 2025, who left us after a courageous 5-year battle with cancer.

Marissa was the devoted wife of Norman, who stood by her side through every trial and triumph. Together, they built a beautiful family, raising their children Melissa and JR, Kurt and Marcus, Nicholas and Christian, with boundless love and dedication

Marissa was the cherished daughter of Flordeliza and dear sister to Maria Theresa (Ryan) and Maria Socorro, as well as her brother Zchazon (Sheila). She was also a treasured aunt to her nephews Rynsley, Shawn and Zchanon and nieces Alexandra and Amarah.

Marissa had a passion for singing and possessed a voice of remarkable beauty that brought joy and comfort to everyone around her. Her songs will continue to resonate in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to hear her sing.

For five years, she fought cancer with bravery and dignity, never letting it diminish her spirit or her smile. Her determination and optimism were an inspiration to all who knew her. Her life was a testament to the power of love, resilience, and faith.

We find solace in knowing that she is now at peace, free from pain, and reunited with loved ones who passed before her.

As we remember Marissa, we celebrate the love and light she brought into our lives. Her memory will forever remain in our hearts, and her voice will continue to echo through the songs she sang and the love she shared.

May Marissa rest in eternal peace, and may her loved ones find comfort in the beautiful memories they shared with her.

Visitation will be held from 6:00pm to 9:00pm on Saturday (April 5th) and Sunday (April 6th) at Heritage Funeral Complex (1250 Trim Road, Orleans, ON).

A Celebration of Marissa’s life will be held at the Divine Infant Catholic Church on Monday (April 7th) at 11:00am and a reception to follow at Heritage Funeral Complex.
