The family of Marguerite “Terry” Collins (Laing) announces her peaceful passing on the morning of January 22, 2025 at the remarkable age of 102 years. Daughter of George Edward Laing of England and Jean Laing (Stirling) of Scotland. Younger sister to Pilot Officer Norman Leslie Laing who lost his life overseas at the tender age of 22.
Born and raised in Toronto, alongside her cherished eldest brother, the late Ralph Laing (late Jean Hood), where she met and married Malachy “Mac” of Belfast (deceased 1989). They made Ottawa their home raising their 5 children together. Predeceased by her son Peter (late Glenda Johnson). She is survived by her children Wendy (Howard), Michael (Cathy), Philip (Marci) Darlene (Scott) and good friend Sandra. Grandmother to Jennifer (Keith), Christopher (Ellen), Michael (Debra), Chad (Carrie), Melanie (Eric), Kate (Justin), Patrick (Kayla) and Danika (Chance).

Terry was also a proud aunt and great aunt to dozens of nieces and nephews who will also miss her. She loved her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law immensely and enjoyed being part of such a large extended family. She loved and missed her long-time friendships over the years from McCullough’s Landing Campground and from winter’s spent in Florida.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Redwoods Retirement Residence and Ontario Health atHome-Champlain for their excellent care and support.

Terry was a resilient, strong, outging, fun loving, always up for a challenge kind of “gal”. She lived life to the fullest, and will be missed dearly by all her family and friends. My deepest sympathies to her family. Love Pauline
