In Memory of Lise Brière

 April 30, 1940 – August 27, 2025

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Lise Brière née Brisson of Orléans, who left us peacefully on August 27, 2025, at the age of 85.

The wife of the late André Brière of 61 years, Lise was a devoted mother to her three daughters Natalie (Martin), Marie-Josée, and Marie-Paule. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her two cherished grandchildren, Tristan and Danika, who brought immense joy to her life. Their Mamie was everything to them, the love she had for both of them was unconditional, fierce, and stitched into every moment they ever shared. Those moments will be forever treasured and etched into their hearts, a lasting reminder of her love and presence.

She was the daughter of the late Napoléon Brisson and the late Aurore Bourdeau. She leaves behind her sisters Réjeanne, Fleur Desneiges, Gisèle and Odette along with her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. She is reunited in heaven with several brothers and sisters, Desneiges, Florian, Roghat (Réal), Aurèle, Mariette, Marcial, Jeanine, Ghislaine, Yolande, Carmel and Gilles. Tante Lise will also be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

Mom dedicated her life to helping others. In the earlier days, she had a home childcare where she nurtured, guided, and loved every child as if they were her own, creating a warm and safe space that felt like a second home. This meant we had the privilege to have our mother raise us not only with constant love and care, but also with the values she poured into every child she looked after with kindness, patience, and empathy. Growing up in that environment was a gift, one that shaped who we are today. As we grew older, she resumed working outside the home, taking on a position in the kitchen at the Madonna Nursing Home, where she continued to care for others through her dedication and warmth this time, through the meals she lovingly prepared.

In retirement, Mom embraced life to the fullest. She loved traveling to tropical destinations and had the joy of going on a few cruises. She liked to stay active with daily walks and attended line dancing classes three to four times a week. She also cherished quiet moments, unwinding with a good book and a glass of red wine in hand. Every summer, she looked forward to spending several weeks with Tristan and Danika caring for them, preparing their favorite meals, going camping, and treating them to back to school shopping. It was her special way of creating lasting memories and showing her endless love for them.

Lastly, the family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the compassionate and dedicated staff at the Centre d’Accueil Roger Séguin, where Mom resided over the past year. Your kindness, care, and commitment to the well-being of the residents have not gone unnoticed, especially during these last few weeks.

Visitation will take place at Sainte-Marie Church, 4831 Innes Road, Orléans on September 13, 2025, from 9:00 am to 10:00 am. A Celebration of Life will follow at 10:00 am. Family and friends are warmly invited to a reception in the church hall immediately following the service.
