In Memory of Joan Kathleen Clisch (née Hickey)

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Joan Kathleen Clisch (née Hickey) of Ottawa on July 6, 2025.

Beloved wife of the late Donald Fred Clisch. Loving mother of David, Douglas, and Dean. Cherished grandmother of Michael (Teena), Patrick, Katerina, and Andrew, and proud great-grandmother Zoe and Jacob.

Born in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Joan was the daughter of the late John Hickey and Mabel Hickey (née Davidson). After Mabel’s passing, John married Mary Elenor Smith Hickey, who was also a large part of Joan’s life. Joan is predeceased by her sister Mary-Marg and survived by her siblings Robert (Maureen) and Janet (Doug). She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephew: Mary-Ellen, Duncan, Nicole, Michelle, and Sarah, as well as her many lifelong friends and those she came to know at Willowbend Retirement Home.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Heritage Funeral Complex, Orléans, on Tuesday, July 15, 2025. Visitation from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m., followed by a service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m., and a reception with refreshments from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

Condolences

Dear David, Douglas, Dean and family, sending our sincere condolences on the passing of your Mom.
Brad and I have many fond memories of being in your Mother’s company.
Back in 2013 on a trip out west, your Mom graciously hosted us for days. She took as all over Langley and Vancouver Island. We had a fabulous time, your Mom regaled us with her keen wit and her art of storytelling. She will always hold a special place in our hearts. Our thoughts and prayers are with you. ❤️

Bernie and I are so sorry to hear of your Mom’s passing. I hope that all the good memories you have of her quickly replace the sad ones you are experiencing now.
