In Memory of Genevieve Marie Trudel
Genevieve Marie Trudel left us at the age of 82 on June 20, 2025 in Ottawa.
Genevieve is predeceased by her parents Jean Trudel and Anne Marie Trudel (born Anne Marie Beaudoin), her sister Joanne Trudel and her brother Pierre Trudel. She is survived by her brother Jean Paul Trudel (Susan) of Ottawa and her sister Helene Wauthy (Guy) of Los Angeles.
She is also survived by her daughters Karen Martinson of Ottawa and Karel Currey (Mark) of Grafton, WV, USA.
Genevieve is lovingly remembered by grandchildren Genevieve Klein of Utrecht, Netherlands and Magdalene Klein of Ottawa.
Genevieve was born in St. Therese de Blainville, Quebec on 20 June 1943. She left home at the age of 20 to pursue what would become a long and successful career. She stayed at home for several years raising her daughters then went to work at both the University of Ottawa and with the federal government. She retired, after many years served, from Industry Canada.
Genevieve was always a pleasant, kind person and a real blessing to her family and friends. She enjoyed many activities over the years such as badminton, hiking, skiing, some golf and was often seen walking with friends or family.
In recent years she has been at the Chapel Hill retirement home and we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and every person that assisted Genevieve on her journey in memory care.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
Donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society of Canada.

The Boileau family wishes to offer our sympathies to Geneviève’s family. We met your mom, Geneviève, when our father Gérald Boileau moved in on the 4th floor care side at Chapel Hill Residence. Your mother was so always so gentle, polite and constantly walking the hallways. She was always pleased when we would address her in French. We wish you all the best.
