In Memory of Anne Abou-Arrage

Anne Abou-Arrage, 68, of Ottawa, ON, passed away on May 21st, 2025 after a four-month battle with cancer.

Anne was born on June 30th, 1956 to Mary Ellen & Nicholas Fitzgerald in Newfoundland.

She went on to marry Joseph Abou-Arrage on March 14th, 1981, going on to have three children, Catherine El-Tawil, Rita Abou-Arrage, and Tina Deland.

Anne enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, preparing meals for her family, and helping others. She always made time to ensure others were well taken care of, whether it was buying coffee and donuts for coworkers, donating toys and clothing to friends in need, sending meals to sick family members, and spoiling her grandchildren. She missed her family in Newfoundland and often talked about going back home. She loved nothing more than when her brothers would come to visit. As such, her family will be sending her ashes back home to Newfoundland as a final resting place. Anne will be deeply missed by her loved ones.

Anne was predeceased by both her parents Mary Ellen and Nicholas Fitzgerald as well as her brothers Mike and Brendan Fitzgerald.

Anne is survived by her husband: Joseph Abou-Arrage. Her three children: Catherine El-Tawil (Toni), Rita Abou-Arrage and Tina Deland. Her four grandchildren: Isabella El-Tawil, Sophia El-Tawil, Noah Deland and Stella Deland. As well as her nine brothers: Dermot Fitzgerald (Helen), Raymond Fitzgerald (Sharon), Gerard Fitzgerald (Donna), Bill Fitzgerald, Kevin Fitzgerald, Joe Fitzgerald (Winnie), Ross Fitzgerald (Laurie), Nick Fitzgerald, and Don Fitzgerald.

A memorial service will be held at Heritage Funeral Complex located on 1250 Trim Road, Ottawa (Orleans) on Saturday, June 14th at 11 a.m.

Condolences

I’ve known Anne since we were kids, and she was always so kind, warm, and welcoming. We spent countless sleepovers at her house, and I always felt at home in her presence. She had a beautiful way of making everyone feel special. She will be deeply missed ❤️

My sincere condolences to my brother Joseph, and to Cathy, Rita, Tina, and all of Anne’s loved ones.
I remember Anne as a fun, kind and caring person devoted to her family. May she rest in peace, and may you all find comfort in the memories you shared.

She is now with our Sal 🙏 🙏 🙏.

Anne, you were such a good person and I’ll always carry your kindness with me. When we were teenagers, you always greeted us with open arms and you made us feel like part of the family. I still remember the big plates of pasta you made, the tabbouleh salad, and the way you always made sure we were fed and happy. Thank you for your warmth, your generosity, and for all the beautiful memories. I’m so grateful to have known you. I will miss you.

Anne and I were best friends for many many years, we worked together and always got in trouble together along with Jenna. I will always remember her playful and mishtiff ways. RIP for eternity my friend, I love you

Anne was a lovely lady. She always made a point of stopping to speak to my mother—Mrs. Edwards, as she always called her. Our family came to know her through our daily visits to the Promenade and truly appreciated the way she kept an eye out for Mom. My sincere condolences to her family.

My name is Maria
I worked with Ann
10 years I’d say or more

You may be gone but I still have memories
of our laughter and our silly games
Will be deeply missed
But I am grateful for the time we shared
You opened your heart and your life
I got to see your grandbabies grow And I got to meet your family
and how much they meant
the world to you
I will always Treasure that
May you rest in peace My beautiful friend❤️😥

I’ve only met anne a few times but i remember her being a kind woman.

My condolences to her family, she will be missed
