In Memory of Anna Adrienne Buchanan
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Anna Adrienne Buchanan (née Blanchette) on May 7th, 2025, in Ottawa, Ontario. She was 71 years young.
Anna dedicated her life to the compassionate care of others as a nurse. Her gentle touch and unwavering dedication brought comfort to countless patients throughout her career. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her profession, touching the lives of all who knew her.
A beloved sister, mother, aunt, and grandmother, Anna cherished her family above all else. She leaves behind her two dedicated sons: Kyle Buchanan (Nathalie) and Keith Buchanan (Melissa), her dear brothers Mario Blanchette (Jill) and Alain Blanchette (Robin ), her baby sister Edith Dionne (Marc), and her adored grandchildren: Rose, Leia, and Lily. She was a cherished aunt to her five nieces and nephews: Rock, Michel, Kelley, Amy, and Chad.
Anna held a special fondness for the innocence of babies, the serenity of angels, and the comforting charm of Winnie the Pooh. These passions are reflected in her style, journals, and countenance.
Her words, “I join those who have left us that I loved very much and I wait for others to join me one day,” offer solace and a testament to the enduring bonds of love that transcend earthly boundaries.
Friends are invited to visit the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orleans on Tuesday, May 13th at 10:00AM. A Memorial Service will be held in the Chapel at 11:00AM, followed by a reception.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Anna’s memory may be made to CHEO or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched.

My deepest condolences. Anna will be missed but never forgotten.
I am deeply saddened to hear of Anna’s passing. I had the privilege of working with her for many years at the Tender Tots program at OCTC. Anna was the best nurse; she cared for her patients with unmatched love and compassion, always radiating kindness and patience. I cherish the many amazing memories we created together. My heart goes out not only to her family but also to her sister Edith, who worked alongside us. They shared a special bond that was inspiring to witness. Anna often spoke about her sons and grandchildren, who she loved more than anything. She will be deeply missed. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you during this difficult time.

She was truly a wonderful person. I had the good fortune of meeting Anna when we attended The Timmins and District school of Nursing , then shared an apartment with her and Estelle Bernard in our last year. Good memories.
My sincere condolences to her sons and family.
We were neighbours on Kennedy Lane and our boys were the same age. Loved our conversations and she always gave me good advice.
Rest in peace Anna xx
