In Memory of André Brière
In Loving Memory of André Brière
June 12, 1941 – August 9, 2025
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of André (Andy) Brière of Orléans, who left us peacefully on August 9, 2025, at the age of 84.
Husband of Lise (née Brisson) of 60 years, André was a devoted father to his three daughters Natalie (Martin), Marie-Josée, and Marie-Paule. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his two cherished grandchildren, Tristan and Danika, who brought immense joy to his life. He never missed a hockey game, motocross race, dance rehearsal, skating show, school event, or graduation, they both made him very proud and were so important to him. They will forever cherish the wonderful memories they created with him, especially the many summers spent camping together.
He was the son of the late Paul-Émile Brière and the late Agnès Leduc. He leaves behind his siblings Denise (the late Paul), Jean (Susan), and Susan (Paul), along with his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law. André will also be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, all of whom held a special place in his heart.
André enjoyed a long and dedicated career as a firefighter with the Cumberland Fire Department, proudly serving from 1965 until his retirement in 2001. He was known for his disciplined nature and unwavering pursuit of excellence, earning the respect of his colleagues at the fire hall.
In retirement, Dad stayed as active as ever, enjoying countless camping trips and spending several winter months in Florida. However, what truly filled his days was his lifelong passion for small engine repair, which he pursued through his business, Andy’s Small Engine Repair. His garage became more than just a workshop, it was a place where machines were brought back to life and where friends and neighbors often dropped by. Whether to chat, share stories, or simply enjoy his quiet company, we all knew we’d find him there, focused on his latest project and always happy to make time for the people around him.
Lastly, the family would like to extend their heartfelt thank you to the compassionate and dedicated staff at the Centre d’Accueil Roger Séguin, where André resided over the past year. Your kindness, care, and commitment to the well-being of the residents have not gone unnoticed, especially during these last few weeks.
Visitation will take place at the Heritage Funeral Complex in Orléans, 1250 Trim Road, on August 19, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and again on August 20, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Sainte-Marie Church, 4831 Innes Road, Orléans. Family and friends are warmly invited to a reception in the church hall immediately following the service.
My deepest sympathies to the Brière Family. He was a dedicated employee in Cumberland Fire department and a good friend
I remember my uncle Andre as a fun and loving man to me and my siblings. He lived down the street from us when we were geowing up.and he would often come and play with us kids. He came to our cottage and taught us how to dive and water ski. He was always playing some prank. On us.
I will miss him a lot.
Love you mon oncle Andre.
Rest in peace.
Xoxo
