Wrapped lovingly in the arms of thine Angels.
Zaefa Mohamed (fondly known as sister, aunty sister, big mommy, Mrs. M) passed away peacefully, at her home, on Friday, December 9, 2022 at the golden age of 94 years.
Mom, our hearts were shattered into a million pieces when the Angels of Allah came and took you from us the gem of our lives.
Our loving, most golden hearted mother was one on a million. The mould was discarded after she was created. Exceptionally angelic. Everyone who knew our mother always commented “What a sweetheart you are”.
Mom was a woman of great faith, a true believer of her religion, always reciting her Quran. Giving paise and thanks to Allah. Hand in Hand with our wonderful father Imam Yusuf Mohamed they completed and lived their lives for the purpose of Allah. There isn’t one moment of our mother’s life that she didn’t recite her QURANIC readings.
She was the most loving, caring, nurturing mother to her seven children. She was a kindest mother-in-law, adoring Agee / grandma and great grandma; great sister, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, niece and overall Human Being one has ever known.
Mom was so Blessed. You could hurt her this moment and the next she’ll tell you she loves you and Allah bless you.
She always advised to pray and forgive. She never showed a bad attitude to anyone.
Her two Angels Naila and Maleeka were very attentive. Always helping to feed her and Naila assisted with her care applying her Nursing Skills. No foot specialist did a better job than Naila. To the last Naila administered the most healthy pedicure anyone has ever done.
She was Gabriella’s only MAMMA!
Mom was very hardworking always burning the midnight oil to make sure we got what we wanted. She was the best Seamstress, made and decorated the best cakes ever. cake Baker and Cake decorator. Everyone loved her Black and Cherry cakes.
Born in Guyana, she served as executive member of the Ladies Organization at the Peter’s Hall Mosque. She migrated to Canada in 1982 and became involved with the Guyana Caribbean Muslim Association, Ottawa where she once again served on the Executive Board.
She was the daughter Hazra and Abdool Ganie and sister of Kayume, Enid and Fyuze (now all deceased)
She was the wife of the late Imaam Yusuf Mohamed June 11, 2008.
Mother of Fareena (Nazim), Reefa (Ray), Safinaz (Tasso), Roweena, Zybina (Eion deceased), Seeba, only son Taif Azam (Karen).
Agee, Grandmother of Ansari, Rayaz, Hamza, Yusuf, Gregory, Angela, Andrew, Jason, Gabriella, Naila and Maleeka.
Great Grandmother of Jada, Zev, Vincent, Noah, Aliya, Zaefa, Reid, Gregory, Isabella, Christopher, and Alexander.
Mom we will carry out your legacy. You are our PRECIOUS gem.
Your tired heart stopped beating. Your Hazel eyes at rest. ALLAH’S garden is beautiful he only takes the best.
May Allah Bless you join you PEACEFULLY with Daddy in the highest rank in Jannah.

Mother The Matriarch
Mamma Allah called you away.
My life is torn to pieces, my heart is broken. I will never be the same. Every corner of your home I see you. May you be joined with my Daddy PEACEFULLY in Jannah.
The moment that you left me my heart split in two. One side filled with memories. The other side died with you.
I often lay awake at night when the world is fast asleep and take a walk down memory lane with tears upon my cheek.
Remembering you is easy I do it everyday but missing you is a heartache that will never go away. I hold you tightly within my heart and there you will remain. My Life seems over and is broken and will never be the same. I love and miss you mamma.
Allah bless you.
Our beautiful queen, such a kind and patient woman. Always filled the room with such a joy and light, blessed to have known her and her loving family, thoughts and prayers with you all
