In Memory of Virtue Evans

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Virtue Evangeline Evans (Beattie) at the age of 76.

After a courageous battle with cancer, she took her last breaths surrounded by family at the Maison de L’Est hospice in Ottawa on September 19th, 2024, where she received exceptional care.

Virtue leaves behind her husband of 52 years, Arthur Evans, sons Jason (Julie) and Chad (Karen), as well as 4 incredible grandkids that she loved dearly; Jake, Jesse, Kierra and Lauren.

Preceded in death by her mother Lilian, father Melvin and sister Doris (the late Elwin Stevens). She will also be missed by her brother Paul, sisters Sharon (Gary Grice) and Doreen (the late Ron Greene).

Virtue lived her life selfless, always looking out for others before herself. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She had a passion for cooking and baking, and was well known for making delicious baked goods at Christmas time and sharing them with everyone. She took great pleasure in the happiness of others.

A celebration of life ceremony and gathering will be held at the Heritage Funeral Complex (1250 Trim Road Access from Taylor Creek Drive, exit off the 174 Eastbound at Trim, first right at the roundabout ) in Orleans on October 21, at 11:00am.

The ceremony will also be livestreamed for those unable to attend the event https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KassnLXxfPw.
In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made to the Canadian cancer society
