Dear Todd.
I am saddened to hear of your sudden passing.. Like you I grew up in the Ottawa area and always had stories to share of our experiences growing up there..

I know that like you I love living here on the beautiful West coast and it was sad to see you leave to go back East.. I know you missed the Coast and had hoped to get back here one day….. I’m sure that at least in spirit you will be back….

Blessings to you Todd from all who knew you here on Vancouver Island..

You will not be forgotten my friend ..

Peter Murphy

Todd was a longtime regular at the Blackfin Pub in Comox where I have worked for over 30 years. A couple years after I met Todd I asked him if he would be intersted in getting a dog as a companion because our neighbour was given a dog that they didn’t really want. The dog ‘Bethoven’ was just tied to a tree in their back yard. Needless to say Todd adopted the dog right away and the two were best buddies till Bethoven passed away. Todd adopted another dog ‘Ollie’ as he love the companionship that dogs bring/give. I would draw cartoons on a board at work (The Far Side and Herman were my favorites) I had this cartoon from Gary Larson (Far Side) that reminded me of Todd, so I drew it for him. When he saw it, he paused, looked at it and cracked up laughing….saying “Hey, that’s me!!” I thought I’d share as I re-drew it for him as a reminder when he moved back East. He loved it. Well, ‘old man’ (yet I’m older) be at peace knowing that there are so many here that miss you and are very saddened by your passing. Now go and play with Bethoven and Ollie!!! xoxo Tanja Kerr
