In Memory of Thérèse Thériault
Our devoted mother Thérèse passed away in the comfort of her home. Thérèse was born in Mattawa, Ontario. She was the daughter of John Joseph Carey and Marie Isabelle (Babin) both deceased. It was in Mattawa where she met her future husband and father of her five children. In 1967, they purchased a home in Ottawa where they both lived until their final day.
Predeceased by her husband of 57 years Lévite (2012); along with her daughters Hélène (2010) and Eva (Mooers) (2021). Sons-in-law Michael Mooers (2020) and Robert Adlard (2013) also pre-deceased her.
Her siblings: Ethel, Arthur, Jules, Isabelle, Eveline, Jeanne, Maurice and André all predeceased her. Carmen is the only surviving sibling of 10 children.
Thériault In-Laws: Yvonne, Jeanne, Léa, Alfred, Albert, Cécile, Jean-Baptiste, Léon, Marie Anne, Ovide, Béatrice, and Odette have all passed. Only 6 of 19 Thériault children remain: Léda, Antoinette, Lucienne, Régina, Paul Arthur, and Juliette (Judy).
She leaves behind her daughters Pauline (Marek Orszanski), Alice and son Richard ; 3 grandchildren : Robert Johns (Natalie Loh), Rachelle (Samuel Mailhot) and Tyler Mooers as well as 4 great-grandchildren.
She will be fondly be remembered by nieces and nephews, as a strong, soft-spoken person who never complained and was uncomfortable being the centre of attention.
Although roses were Thérèse’s favorite flower, the family would prefer donations to the Cancer Foundation to help eradicate the pain and suffering caused by this terrible disease.
Respecting her final wishes, Thérèse will be cremated.
A private Catholic mass will be held Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 10:30 at Église Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes, 435 Montréal Rd., Ottawa, Ontario K1K 0V2. Interment will follow at the Notre-Dame Cemetery, lot 41-205.
