In Memory of Thérèse Gauthier
It is with great sadness that we inform you of the death of our mother, Thérèse Gauthier (born Pagé) on November 27th, 2020 at the age of 88. She was predeceased by her husband Roger and by her son Marc (Sandra Rodgers). She was the daughter of the late Damase Pagé and the late Imelda Lepage. She is survived by her children: Robert (Mimi Lachapelle), François (Kim Crevier) and Sylvie (Marcel Niles); her grand children: David (Mel), Patrick, Danielle (Adam), Julie (Martin), Nicolas (Lydia), Caroline (Phil), Stéphane, Adam (Catherine), Catherine, Shannon (Stephen), Kyle, Mitch, Christopher and Rachel; her great grand children: Nathaniel, Alexy, Mathis, Zoé, Chloé, Julien, Benjamin and Kezia, her brother Léo Pagé (Denise Brind’Amour)(late Jeannine Lepage), many nephews and nieces and very good friends.
She is predeceased by her brothers: Jean (late Gabrielle Dutrisac), Hubert (late Gertrude Goyette), Gérard (late Noëlla Parisien), Wilfrid (late Noëlla Charron) et Robert (Lucille Côté) and her sisters: Marie-Rose (late Absolon Parent), Simone (late Arcade Lefebvre), Jeanne (late Aimé Goyette), Aline (Laurent Parisien) and Rachelle Rose.
Born on a farm in Orléans, the 10th of 12 children, she attended St. Joseph primary school and obtained her diploma from Eastview High School. She then met Roger, a handsome young man from Wrightville, and married in 1952 at the age of 20. Throughout her life, Mom put the well-being of her family and loved ones first. She was the matriarch of the family and devoted a lot of her time to bringing people together (we remember “Le Centre Touristique de la Petite Rouge”). She will be remembered for her love and commitment to her family through many warm gatherings and her famous quilts, “Thérèse, elle avait des doigts de fée”! She was a devout Christian and her and dad had given much of their time singing in the St. Joseph’s Church Choir in Orléans. She was the heart of the family and she will be greatly missed.
A very special thank you to the long-term care team and staff of the Centre d’accueil Champlain for their dedication and the care provided.
For those who wish, memorial donations to a charity of your choice associated with mental illness would be appreciated.
Unfortunately, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, there will be a small private ceremony for immediate family members only. An outdoor gathering will be scheduled during a burial service in spring 2021. Online condolences may be shared at: www.heritagefh.ca
