It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Therese on Thursday, November 23, 2017, at the Ottawa Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was 66. She has gone ahead to light the path for her loving husband and soul mate of 45 years, John. Loving children Anne Elizabeth (Chris) Sellen of Listowel, Jennifer (Justin) Potenza of Ottawa and Christine (Mark) Stinson of Smith Falls. Adored grandchildren Gavin, Abby, Jake and Caden. Predeceased by parents Bernard (2004) and Loretta (2016) Parent. Will be dearly missed by sister Rita (Yves) Isabelle of Burlington and brother Raymond (Tana) Parent of Thunder Bay. Sister-in-law to Margaret (2015)(David) Laur of London, David Fulton (Lorna Hannah) of Calgary, Chris (Lynn) Fulton of Kitchener/Waterloo; Dear Aunt to many nieces & nephews. She will be remembered deeply by her family and friends from her Church, teaching days in Ottawa and Newfoundland and her co-workers and clients from the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat where she worked for many years. Therese had a love of learning, teaching, music (organist at St. Margaret-Mary Roman Catholic Church), a passion for golf and the love of the great outdoors.

We thank all her good friends and neighbours who have been so supportive during these past few months while Therese fought this terrible disease. Therese has asked that the funeral be a casual affair and that everyone come in blue jeans and a bright shirt to share her love of the great outdoors. Visitations will be held at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orléans, on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017, from 4:30 – 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, November 29th, 2017, from 12 – 1 p.m. at St. Margaret-Mary Roman Catholic Church, 2571 Hwy 174, Cumberland.
