In Memory of Shawn Mathieson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Shawn Mathieson on Thursday March 3rd, 2016 at the young age of 48 in a tragic accident. Loved son of the late Pauline Lizette Larche and the late Thomas Mathieson; spouse of Carrie Pyzevas; father of Corey, Scott and Amelie; brother of the late Gill, Heather (the late Roscoe – Masao) and Michael (Victor); loving uncle to Bill, Shayla, Kyle and Cyelle. The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd. (corner of Taylor Creek Dr.), Orléans, on Wednesday, March 9th, 2016 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Thursday, March 10th from 1-2 p.m. A Memorial Service will follow in the Heritage Chapel at 2 p.m. followed by a reception. Shawn was a dedicated Firefighter with the Ottawa Fire Service for 15 years. Shawn was a loving father and husband who extended his love and warmth to everyone who knew him. A kind and gentle soul, with nothing but the best interests of others at heart. Shawn’s extended family in the fire department was a big part of his life with his recent endeavours. His large family and many cousins and friends are devastated. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ontario Federation for Cerebral Palsy would be appreciated.
