In Memory of Rudolf Faktor
Rudolf (Rudy) Edward Faktor – It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of Rudy Faktor announce his passing on August 9th, 2021, at the Montfort Hospital, at the age of 85, after a valiant but brief battle with cancer.
Beloved husband of Jeannine (née Giroux) of 63 years. Devoted father of Kathy (Maurice Desjardins), Linda, James, Brian (Rachelle Guevremont) and Hélène (Marc Brunet). Loving and cherished grandfather to Amy, Karine, Steven, Tania, Jaime, Kyle, Sandra, Mélanie, Mandi, Michelle and Chloé. Great-grandfather to Alyah Moyes and Rylan Neville.
Rudy will be fondly remembered by his sister, Emily (late Raymond) Kropp and brother, John (Marg) Faktor of Manitoba.
Predeceased by his parents, Filip Faktor and Mary (Faktor).
Brother-in-law to Bernadette (late Frank) Johnston, Léo & Gisèle Giroux, Pauline (late Roland) Giroux & Gerry. Beloved uncle to numerous nephews and nieces.
Rudy was a friend to many, and will be greatly missed.
Born March 21, 1936 in Flin Flon, MB., Rudy moved to Ottawa in 1958 when he married his sweetheart, Jeannine. Together, they raised 5 children.
Rudy was a Master Electrician, and after having worked for various businesses over several years, he began his own company, Faktor Electrical.
Upon his retirement, Rudy enjoyed spending time with the family, be it gatherings at home or at his condo in Treasure Island, Florida. You would often find Rudy relaxing on the dock, reading the paper. He was a great walker – the sometimes inclement weather in Ottawa did not deter him from taking his nightly strolls with his buddy, Casper at his side. Nor did the sweltering heat prevent his walking along the beach in Treasure Island, Fl. – John’s Pass and the rock pile will never be the same.
Above all, Rudy’s greatest love and pride was for his wife, Jeannine and his family.
We will miss you with all our hearts!
Due to Covid restrictions, a private ceremony will be held on August 27th, at the Heritage Funeral Complex, Orléans, ON. The funeral ceremony will be webcast starting at 1:00 pm EST. You can view the ceremony live or on replay at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orfYHEZrgxI
