In Memory of Rosanne Marie Louise Menchetti (nee Davidson)
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rosanne, aged 75, surrounded by family in hospital on December 25th, 2023.
She was the loving wife of Ron for 43 years. Rosanne was predeceased by her infant daughter Lisa. She was the proud mother of Andrew (Christa) and step-mother of Chris (Vicki), Jeff (Erica), and Sheri (Stephane). She adored and was loved by her 9 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Rosanne was born in Hawkesbury, Ontario, and was the second youngest of 6 children. Her siblings are Gerald (Aline), Sergine (the late Drummond), Madeleine (the late Art), Carole, and Paul. She moved to Ottawa in 1980 and married Ron the same year.
Having moved to Carleton Place back in 1996, Rosanne enjoyed the quiet life of the small town. She would chat with everyone, from the grocery clerk to the bank teller, and always managed to find someone who could speak French, even in Carleton Place. She knew everyone by name and they too knew her. Grandma Rosie loved going to her grandkids’ hockey games and only gave it up when she couldn’t take the cold anymore. She loved her Senators as well, and often yelled at the TV as they played. She also loved her medical shows and French programs!
When you visited Rosie, you were sure to be well fed and well looked after! She mastered and kept alive Ron’s Italian heritage by learning to make homemade pasta, rempetura, and pasate, and she passed that on to her kids to keep the tradition going. She also was known for her tourtieres and pets-de-soeurs (Nun’s farts for those who don’t know French), and other goodies which she made by hand.
Friends and family are invited to pay tribute at Heritage Funeral Chapel, 1250 Trim Road, Ottawa, on Sunday, January 7th, from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm, followed by a service at 3:00 pm. Flowers are welcome, or donations to the CNIB would be appreciated.
Juicy fruit, Rosie, on va te manquer.
À toute la famille Davidson nos sympathies. Nos pensées son avec vous tous…
Bon courage ❤️❤️

I am so sorry to hear of Roseannes passing. She was such a wonderful lady who always had time to chat. I will forever cherish our sidewalk chats and your homemade pasta. How you understood Ron’s Italian but didn’t speak it. How you gave me the best advice as a young woman going through difficulties with life. Rest easy my friend and neighbour❤️
