In Memory of Roger Picotte
Roger P. Picotte passed away peacefully on June 5, 2023 at home at the age of 82. He was the son of the late Grace Albert (Didier) and Alfred Albert of Ottawa. Brother of the late Gerard and the late Micheline (Currie) and former husband to the late Barbara Robinson. Survived by his children, Lisa Smith and Brian Picotte. Grandchildren, Darcie, Leane, Hannah and Sarah and great grandchild, Adalyna.
Roger began his career in 1963 with Peoples Jewellers on the sales floor on his way to the office of Corporate Vice President.
Roger failed miserably at retirement and filled his time with consulting and management in various local businesses. He always craved a new project to focus on.
You could always count on Roger for his full support; an honest opinion, a bad joke and unconditional love.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, June 9, 2023 at 3 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orléans, ON. Family will receive condolences from 1 p.m.
Rest in peace our friend, our father, our mentor.
I remember Roger from when I was working at Mappin’s Jewellers in the late 1980’s. Straight forward, business focused, ready to help, and always a gentleman. Condolences to the family.
We are so sorry to hear about your father’s passing. We know this is a very sad and difficult time for you and your family. You have our very deepest sympathy.
My first memories of Roger were visiting my Grandfather and Aunt Della in Kemptville about sixty years ago. Roger and Barb would be at the kitchen table with a coffee and a cigarette or two. They were all so kind, and the visits happened most weekends. I was fortunate in that I could visit both sets of Grandparents as they lived two blocks from each other. I always liked Roger and kept in touch with him throughout the years. As luck would have it, Roger came to work at Frisby Tire, which was the last of many careers he took on during his “retirement” from the jewellery business. He was a Gentleman, very intelligent, with a good wry sense of humour. I will remember him fondly. My sincere condolences go to Brian & Lisa and their children and grandchild.
Dear Bryan and Lisa
