With sadness and sense of loss, we announce the passing of Robert (Bob) William Herman McAllister on Monday, September 11, 2023 at the age of 90.

He will be missed by his loving family, son Gordon, daughter-in-law Christine, grandchildren Kenneth and Meghan Mosca (Mike), brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and friends.

Bob was born in Benjamin River (New Mills), New Brunswick in 1933 and was the oldest of 18 children of Leslie Gordon and Mary Delena (Briggs).  Bob is survived by his brothers/sisters:  Roy, Carl, Opal, Joyce, Linda, Barbara, Doris.  He was predeceased by his brothers/sisters:  Pearl, Cecil, Rolly, Viola, Arthur, Arnold, Linwood, Peggy, Roger, Dora.

Bob joined the Canadian Armed Forces in 1951 and after 31 years retired in 1982 at the rank of Chief Warrant Officer. His various postings were located in:  Ottawa; Gaza, Egypt (UN Peacekeeping); Edmonton; CFB Gagetown; and Brunssum, Netherlands (NATO). After his military service, he continued working in the public service for another 15 years with Revenue Canada, National Defense and the Canadian Museum of Nature.

Friends and family alike will remember his love for music, especially singing karaoke.  He loved spending time at his cottage on the Nation River (close to the Ottawa River).  He did enjoy a good time, so raise a toast in his honour and know that your friendship was appreciated.

There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Interment will take place at a later date.
