What a loss. A big loss to the family, to his staff, and to the community as well. And it’s not just one community – a presence like Rick Atwill had will be felt in more than one community in the Ottawa area alone. I was never a personal friend of Rick’s, but he always made me feel like I was every time I was there, not just once-in-awhile. These are big shoes to fill, but I think they have already been filled. I wish the entire family some peace at this time.

Dear Ellen and Derek, I heard the sad news on the weekend and I just want you to know that Kim and I are thinking about you, Rick was a great guy and I’ve had lots of good times with the Atwills over the years. I always enjoyed his honesty, generosity and sense of humour.
We will miss him.
See you on the 24th.
Best wishes
Kim and Al
