In Memory of Reina Deschamps
Sister Reina Deschamps (Sister Alice de St-Gérard) Daughter of Wisdom, passed away peacefully after a long illness on June 2, 2017 at the age of 92, of which 71 years were consecrated in religious life. She was the daughter of the late Ovila Deschamps and the late Alice Gravelle. She leaves behind her sister, Gisèle Lalonde (Gilles) and her brother, Bishop Gérard Deschamps along with many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Cécile wife of late Jean-Jacques Gratton and a brother Wilfrid Deschamps. Sister Reina was called to teach to deaf, dumb and blind children in Bogota, Columbia, South America. From 1954 to 1959 she taught in Madrid, Spain. Then from 1964 to 1972 she was a Missionary in Papua New Guinea. A celebration of her life will take place on Thursday, June 8, 2017 at 7:15 p.m. at Maison Accueil, 424 Montreal Road, Ottawa. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, June 9 at 10:30 a.m. at Notre-Dame de-Lourdes parish, 435 Montreal Road, Ottawa. Family will receive condolences from 10 o’clock until 10:30.
