In Memory of Pauline Bérard

It is with extremely broken hearts that we announce that Pauline Marie Suzanne Bérard (née Paquette) lost her battle with metastatic breast cancer at home on the night of October 6, 2024, at the age of 59.

With a heart as big as the ocean, Pauline poured her soul into everything she did, every person she met, without fault. She loved fiercely and gave herself fully, always making those around her feel seen and cherished. Whether through a smile, a gentle touch, or words of encouragement, Pauline’s love was a force that carried her family, her friends, and her community through even the darkest of times.

In July of 2021, she was diagnosed with stage IV breast cancer. Pauline was a determined woman, she did not want to let her cancer beat her. She took all the pain and suffering with a smile and never once gave up. Unfortunately, in August of 2024, we discovered that her cancer had metastasized, spreading to her brain, liver and lungs.

Yet, Pauline’s spirit remained unbroken. Surrounded by her family, her best friend, and a community of supporters, she faced each day with unwavering courage.

Pauline’s legacy is in the lives she touched. Her ability to put others before herself, to listen, to understand, and to comfort, will be remembered by all who knew her. She leaves behind a world that is a little brighter, a little kinder, because she was in it.

As we say goodbye to Pauline, let us carry forward her message of love, of resilience, and of never giving up. In her memory, let us embrace each day with the same fierce determination and unwavering compassion that she showed us all.

Rest in peace, dearest Pauline. Your light will continue to shine bright in the hearts of those you have left behind.

Left to mourn her loss is her loving husband and her 2 daughters, who she loved more than life itself, Pierre Bérard and Jessica and Jennie Bérard respectively, her siblings Philippe (Monique), Madeleine (André), Marc (Sylvie) and Rosanne (Clifford), her mother-in-law Georgette Bérard (née Scharfe), her sister-in-law Judy Bérard, and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Pauline was predeceased by her parents Louis and Jeannine Paquette (née Champagne), her father-in-law, Oscar Bérard and her sister-in-law, Debbie Lutz (née Bérard).

At Pauline’s request, there will be a celebration of life. Please join us at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd, Orléans, ON, on October 20, 2024, at 1:00pm.

In Pauline’s memory, donations can be made to Breast Cancer Canada.

My sincerely condolences to her family! Pauline was a beautiful ray of sunshine. Loved by many. I’ve worked with Pauline for many many years and she was always there to help with a smile. She will be dearly missed by all.

Bon courage.
