Condolences

I did not get to know Pat as well as others but hé loved good conversation, cherished family and friends. Cars and racing were passions of his. Family pets were very dear to his heart with Annabelle as special mention. God bless my friend Pat.

Ryan,
I was really sorry to hear about your dad. I have great memories having chats with him at Ray Friel. May all your happy memories, fill your broken heart.
Love Julie Lefebvre

Worked with Paddy for 25 years. A good Leader and a fun guy. He had a great sense of humour and his laugh (or giggle) was infectious.
My best to his family and his circle of friends.
Rest easy, buddy.

Ryan and family, condolences on the passing of Pat. I worked with Pat from the day that I arrived at OCDC until the day that he retired from OCDC. It was a long career with many ups and many downs. I remember his bodybuilding days at the Ottawa athletic club and his intense desire to compete on the local scene.
I know he will be missed very much by his good friend Peter Lambert.
Rest in peace.
Norbert

My deepest heartfelt condolences to Ryan, Sheilagh and all the family. I was only in Pat’s life for 5 years, but he meant the world to me. We shared many happy hours and days together and I will cherish those memories fondly. Till we meet again. Rest in peace with your angel Annabelle. Love you. 💔

My condolences on the loss of your father Pat. We go way back to when he had his red Datsun 240Z and would show up at my home in Orleans or the odd time at Gifford Automotive. Mainly shared Datsun related stories. Our last meeting was in Merrickville this last summer where I was showing my 73 Z and he and a friend would stop by and he would say how he still misses selling his car years ago and how he moved on and raced all those other cars but always came back to his 240Z that was the most remembered. . A great loss and He will be in my memories till Im gone.

Pat was my racing coach way back in 2008. I had a habit of resting my hand on the shifter of my 240Z, instead of keeping it on the wheel. He got tired of reminding me and started slapping my hand. I don’t do that any more. More recently, we were adjusting brake pressures on my brand new Rush SR at last year’s test&tune on the stadium track. Pat took it for a lap. He screamed down the straight but caught his sneaker on the brake pedal and went straight through the cones towards turn 1 before getting stoped. Jane went ballistic and wanted to kick both of us out. Pat sweet talked her into letting us continue. Have his “excursion” on video. Pat made it quite a few of my races since then, always with a good racing tip. Going to miss him.

Met Patrick racing online. He was a big part of LoPeN a Virtual Racing league. We had a tight knit group of real racers here and had so much fun racing and talking about life. He was very unique and made him who he was. Will miss chasing you and having you trying to spin me when chasing me. You son Ryan and Sheilagh and Chris. I have Ya’ll in my heart. RIP Fast guy.

I met Pat during a Ted Powell weekend at Calabogie. My brother, Peter, was a track volunteer for the 2009 event and I happened to be visiting him from BC. We spent the weekend in Calabogie and Pat was among a group of people that met at a local cafe for a meal after a busy day. Later, after I returned home, I discovered that Pat was a member of an online sim racing group that I had joined. He was a fierce, competent competitor, a carryover from his real-world racing hobby. Over the years, during our weekly sim racing activities, we shared stories, traded tips, debated the ins-and-outs of life. Pat liked to keep up with current events and wasn’t shy about offering his take on how it was in the world. He was one of a kind, I miss his presence. My condolences to his family and friends.

Ryan, Sheilagh, Chris and Faye

Our sincere condoleances to Sheilagh, Ryan and all the family for the lost of your special brother ”Pat”. He will be greatly missed, glad that I had the opportunity to see him in October. Thank you Pat for all the tips and chats we had re: motorcycles, family and life in general. You were one of a kind and will be missed.

A real nice get together the other day for Pat. Alot of old friends showed up, from the Jail, the Gym and the Racetrack, and I am sure Pat was taking a look down with a smile on his face for all his friends getting together to honor and remember the old times with him and the gang. Thanks to the family for putting on a nice get together for Pat because it was a very nice gathering. Thanks
