In Memory of Nicole “née Dupré” Dumont

It is with great sadness that we announce that Nicole Dumont, beloved wife of Rhéal, passed away Thursday, March 23 while vacationing in Florida. A resident of Orléans, Ontario, Nicole was born in Sudbury, Ontario, the daughter of Edgar (died 2015) and Rollande (nee Lalonde) Dupré

Nicole was loved dearly and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. She always put others before herself in all situations. Everyone knew Nicole as a patient, kind, and genuine woman. She was, and remains, the most beautiful daughter; wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and friend. Nicole’s greatest joys and prides in life were her children and grandchildren.

Nicole appreciated and cherished every day and, every moment. She loved to laugh and to create lasting memories with her family and friends. She had a special way of making those who met her be their best selves. Nicole also had a unique eye for her homemade clothing and she always found the best deals on everything.

Nicole volunteered much of her time to support the French language and art in her community; she was a dedicated volunteer at Mouvement d’implication francophone d’Orléans (MIFO). She recently retired from the Canadian Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC), where she had many friends.

Nicole would not want us to dwell on the past, but to remember the good times spent together and, to appreciate today. Nicole was a lifelong learner and a teacher to those around her. She was a source of wise, well thought out advice. For the rest of our lives, we will all be asking ourselves, “What would Nicky do?”

Nicole is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Rhéal Dumont; her beloved children, Gabriel Dumont (Emily Reid) of Bristol, QC; Chantal (Marc Charron) Dumont of Orleans, ON; her mother, Rollande Dupré of Sudbury, ON; her sister, Marquise (Jean-Pierre) Dumont of Sudbury, ON; and two cherished granddaughters, Léa and Sofia Charron.

She was preceded in death by her father Edgar (2015) and by her brother, Joffre (2015).

A celebration of Life will be held at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orléans, Ontario Monday, April 17. The family will receive family and friends from 1:00 to 2:30 followed by a celebration of Nicole’s life in the chapel.

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, www.cancer.ca/donate. Condolences may be addressed at: www.heritagefh.ca
