In Memory of Mura Hari Valupadas
Dr. Mura Hari Valupadas, 84, of Orleans, Ontario, passed away on July 30, 2023 after a brief illness.
Mura Hari was born on October 6, 1938 to Venkatesham and Samakka in Shyampet, India.
Mura Hari received his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from Osmania University, Hyderabad, and his Master’s from Regional Engineering College, Warangal.
In 1968 he was given the opportunity to do his PhD in Civil Engineering at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Canada. He completed his doctorate in only one and a half years. Upon graduation he decided to make Edmonton his home for the next 45 years. He was a founding member of the Andhra Cultural Association of Edmonton which was started in 1969.
He has spent the last 10 years in Orleans, Ontario.
Mura Hari was an avid reader and chess player. He also loved to garden.
Mura Hari is survived by his beloved wife Mallikamba, children Sharada (Sai Krishna), Prasad (Bindu), Neeta (Srinivasa), grandchildren, Arun (Stephanie), Sirisha (Varnit), Meghana (Tolu), Kieran, Abhi, Divya and great granddaughter Magathi.
Dear Uncle
You are the one amazing person, we met in Edmonton in the beginning, when we arrived from Japan in 2001. You always use to talk with everybody in the Association irrespective of old or new and what ever the region.
We miss you all.
