I was saddened to hear of Mike’s passing. He was a genuine guy who loved to participate in life’s activities. We met at the Ottawa Philatelic Society. I soon learned of his love of trains and commissioned a painting of a train on the Canadian prairies for his home office. It is difficult for me to get around these days Jacqueline so I will not make the funeral; however, my thoughts are with you and your family. Sincerely, Dick.
Haven’t spent much time with my big brother because I’ve lived so far away from him and his family. He used to always call me “kiddo” and I treasure those times I heard him say that. I’m sure he will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. Loved him and I love his family. SO LONG BIG BRO!
“KIDDO” – Bye Bye Mike, bye bye.
Dear Dad,
That October Wednesday
Your Lord visited you
and took you up
Part of us went with you
You are now watching over us
Thank you for all that you have done
Enjoy your rest
Because you deserve the best
We love and miss you very much
Farewell, until we meet again
The following lyrics are taken from the song “Mama” by II DIVO
I have added the word “Papa” too.
This is in loving memory of all Papas, Mamas and other parent figures who have left us and whom we love and miss very much.
Mama (Papa), thank you for who I am
Thank you for all the things I’m not
Forgive me for the words unsaid
And for the times I forgot
Mama (Papa), remember all my life
You showed me love, you sacrificed
Think of those young and early days
How I’ve changed along the way, along the way
And I know you believed
And I know you had dreams
And I’m sorry it took all this time to see
That I am where I am because of your truth
And I miss you, I miss you
Mama (Papa), forgive the times you cried
Forgive me for not making right
All of the storms I may have caused
And I’ve been wrong, dry your eyes, dry your eyes
And I know you believed
And I know you had dreams
And I’m sorry it took all this time to see
That I am where I am because of your truth
And I miss you, I miss you
Oh, mi mancherai
Mama (Papa), I hope this makes you smile
I hope you’re happy with my life
At peace with every choice I’ve made
How I’ve changed along the way, along the way
And I know you believed in all of my dreams
And I owe it all to you… Mama (Papa).
