In Memory of Mark Tooker

Mark W. Tooker, born October 6th, 1962, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his wife and three daughters on June 5th, 2020. Beloved husband, father, uncle, and friend; Mark is survived by his wife of 30 years, Anne Séguin-Tooker; his daughters, Céleste, Anaïs, and Isabelle (Connor Reid); and his sister, Lucinda Tooker (Tony Greenall). He will also be deeply missed by his extended family: Joane (Richard), Yves (Teresa), Luc (Dina), Denis (Marie-Andrée), Jean-Pierre (Conçeicao) and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. Mark is predeceased by his parents, William H. Tooker and Susan (Vogt) Tooker. Mark grew up in Brockville, Ontario, and after attending university in Toronto and Ottawa, worked in the field of computer science. In retirement, he devoted his time to his passions of music, gardening, and single scull rowing. Mark played saxophone in numerous classical, rock, and jazz ensembles.

The family would like to express its heart-felt gratitude to the caregivers and personnel from the LHIN Champlain under Dr. Martin Rioux as well as the oncology staff at TOH, notably Dr. Ong, Dr. Malone, Dr. Sinclair, Dr. Tiberi & Dr. Côté, all of whom demonstrated great compassion and care during these trying times.

In Mark’s memory, in lieu of flowers, a donation to The Ottawa Hospital (TOH) Research Institute care of Dr. Michael Ong’s or the Canadian Cancer Society, specifically to research for melanoma would be appreciated.

There will be a celebration of Mark’s life at a future date, when we can once again gather together.
