In Memory of Madeleine Cloutier
We are saddened to announce the passing of Madeleine Cloutier (nee Moritz), on October 14, 2022, at the age of 85.
Predeceased by her parents Dr. Dénes Moritz and Katalin Belak, Madeleine is survived by her former spouse Judge Gerard Cloutier; her children Albert Cloutier (Naini), Ariane Cloutier (Luc Sigman) and Michelle Hamilton; her grandchildren Natasha Cloutier, Aarthi Cloutier, Emily Hamilton and Skye Sigman, as well as her sister Denise Rackus.
Madeleine was born in Budapest, Hungary, just prior to the Second World War. The War over, she spent two years in a Swiss boarding school before the family moved to Ottawa when she was thirteen. After graduating from the University of Ottawa, she married Gerard Cloutier and together they lived in Kapuskasing, Ontario, for nearly twenty years, where her three children spent their early formative years. When the marriage ended, Madeleine returned to Ottawa and dedicated herself to a career in adult education. In the ensuing 44 years, she found joy in her many friends, children and grandchildren, all of whom will miss her dearly.
The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Rd., Orléans, for a Celebration of Madeleine’s Life on Sunday, October 23rd, 2022 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. with words of remembrance at 1:30 p.m.

Dear Albert, Ariane and Michelle,
I only just learned of the passing of your dear mother. I have many fond memories of her and spending time at the “Cloutier’s”…both in Kap (Riverside Dr) and Remi Lake (cottage). She was always so kind to me and everyone. She will be dearly missed but always remembered in our thoughts and forever in our hearts.
