In Memory of Lucien Dauray

Lucien Gilles Dauray, lovingly known as Lou aka Dad, Daddy, Pops, Poppa Bear and Poppa, passed away on Sunday, March 15, 2020 surrounded by his family at the age of 77.

The excellence of his work through Dauray Enterprises is seen throughout the city in countless government and private sector locations as well as beautifully exhibited at all Lifecentre Campus locations and especially at his beloved Lifecentre Food Bank.

He leaves behind his wife Madeleine (nee Legault) of 55 years, his two children Luc (Marie) and Nathalie (Bruce) and Godson Glenn as well as his sister Georgette (late Albert).

Predeceased by his brother Gerard, his sisters Francoise, Rejeanne, Laurette and Michelin. He will be missed by all his nieces, nephews and life-long friends.

His unfailing commitment to his wife and children was his top priority in life along with his adoration of his beloved granddaughters known as “his girls” Brooklyn and Brianna.

The family would like to thank the incredible Oncology staff of the Cancer clinic at The Ottawa General Hospital. A special thank you to the amazing and caring staff in unit 6 West of the Ottawa General Hospital who showed unmatched love and care for him during his last days. The family will be forever grateful and will cherish the memories of each and every staff member.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Lifecentre Foodbank at Lifecentre.org where Lou served through the preparing of countless Christmas baskets and being a faithful Board Member since its inception in 1982.
Lou’s foundational work and legacy in his devotion to his family, his church and the foodbank will have a lasting impact in the Ottawa region.

Lou served Jesus his whole adult life and has heard these wonderful words, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ (Matt. 25:23)

In light of the Corvid-19 virus, condolences may be offered at www.heritagefh.ca. and as well Lifecentre.org. A private burial will take place immediately and a Celebration of Life service at a later date.
