In Memory of Lewis George Farhood, P.ENG
March 4, 1948-September 5, 2021
With great sadness, the family announces the passing of Lewis George Farhood, P. Eng. in the hospital on September 5, 2021, after a long battle with liver disease. Predeceased by his mother, Mary Beauchamp, and father, George Farhood. Survived by his loving wife Christine, son Sean, daughter Jennifer, son in law Charles, grandchildren Logan and Cali Anna, and sister Jo Ann. He was Godfather to Stephanie and Rae.
Born in Montreal, Lew also lived in Michigan and California during his youth, before moving back to Montreal and eventually settling in Ottawa after he got married and raised his family.
Lew was an award-winning civil engineer and had a long career at Bell Canada, before forming his own engineering and property management company. People who knew him will tell you he was a true comedian. Lew always looked forward to an annual vacation with family in his favorite vacation destination, Cancun, MX. He loved to entertain family and friends with magic tricks, telling jokes and playing guitar, drums, keyboard, and bass. He loved music, and was a self-taught musician, playing in bands during high school up until his illness. Lew’s pastimes included astronomy, golf, chess, woodworking, and aiming to acquire his pilot’s license. He will be greatly missed by family and friends whose lives he touched during his lifetime.
“They put a man on the moon – anything is possible!’ -Lew Farhood
