In Memory of Katya Janel de Vries
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Katya Janel de Vries, of Orleans, on August 22, 2022, at the very young age of 24 years.
Katya will be forever in the hearts of her daughter Emma Piper Rose Tait, her mother Julia Patterson, her father James de Vries (Heidi), sisters Chloe (Bashar) and Sierra (Elijah), grandparents Charles and Winona Patterson, boyfriend Jordan Villeneuve, step-siblings Olivia and Hayden as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins and numerous other relatives.
Katya will also be dearly missed by all her friends.
A visitation will be held at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orleans, ON, on Thursday, September 8th, 2022 from 5 – 8PM.
Burial will take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, 933 Pine Street, Magog, QC, on Saturday, September 10th at 11AM, followed by a luncheon hosted at the home of Angus Patterson & Michele Madore, at 2490 Chemin de la Pisciculture, Coaticook, QC. We would ask that the burial be a celebration of Katya’s life, and would ask that anyone wanting to share a story and/or memories, to please do so.
Instead of flowers, we would ask that donations be made in Katya’s name to the MIRA Foundation. For those who don’t know the reason as to why, we did foster a service dog one year and Katya took that puppy to school with her every day as part of the socialization process these service dogs go through. This charity would have been close to the heart of Katya. Please follow this link Online Donation – Fondation Mira inc. (imakeanonlinedonation.org), if you want to let me know about the donation, you can do so by choosing “Inform the Family” then enter my information. (my address is 353 Harvest Valley Avenue, Orleans, ON, K4A 0K7).
My deepest condolences to the entire family. Katya holds a piece of my heart. She was a special little girl to me. Rest in Peace my sweet Katya. Love you forever.
Our most heartfelt sympathies to Winona, Charles, Julia and all the family for your loss. You are in our thoughts and in our prayers.
My deepest sympathies Julia, Sierra, Chloe and family. Katia was our babysitter for a few years, and we took her with us on a couple of vacations. She was a quiet, and kind soul who was so thoughtful and responsible. My heart is so broken for your family. Her daughter will grow up knowing what an incredible woman her mom was, thanks to the strong women who are still in her life. My prayers go out to you all.
We are very sorry to hear of your loss, Thinking of you all at this time.
