In Memory of Katherine (Kate) Seguin

It is with heavy hearts and sadness, the family of Kate Seguin would like to announce the passing of a beautiful, loving and courageous woman on October 6, 2023 at the age of 68 years. Katherine (Kate) was the eldest daughter of the late Edna and the late Albert Burry. She was a big sister of Tim Burry (Cheri), Doris Lane (Rob), Sandra Gateman (Paul), and Carolyn Burry (deceased) . Kate and her first husband, Richard Seguin had four wonderful children together: Marc (Sylvie), Patrick, Nicole (Marc-Andre Lacasse) and Luc (Stefanie Cardinal). She became a devoted and beloved grandmother to Manon, Astrid, Christine, and Joshua. Kate was predeceased by her second husband Charles Parizeau. She remained a loving family member to his children; Randy (Rita), Sherri (Dan Potvin) and their families, as well as a dear sister to LeeAnn Pariseau-Pugin and the rest of the Parizeau family. Survived by a large family of aunts and uncles on the west coast who will miss her dearly, Marvin, Louise, Evelyn, Wilfred, Verna, Diana, Alfred, Allan, Larry, and Jennifer.

After a long hard-fought battle with cancer, Kate passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. A special thanks to Dr. Vincent and the Orleans Palliative Care Team for all their amazing care provided.

She worked for the federal government for 30 years and happily retired in 2015. Kate loved gardening, golfing, and many years of travelling with Charles. She leaves behind many friends and former colleagues from her years of working, enjoying darts, curling, and playing golf.

Please join her family and friends for a Celebration of Kate’s Life on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orleans, Ontario.

My heartfelt condolences go out to Katie’s family. She was a dear friend and we shared wonderful memories of golfing together, weekend cottage getaways and our trip to Florida just before Covid hit. Memories I will have for a lifetime. Rest in peace my friend. See you on the other side.😢

I am so sorry for your loss. I met Kate at Caps Pub. We played darts and had a lot of good times. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. She will be missed.

My Sincere condolences on the passing of “Kate” I have fond memories of Her as a small child growing up with our immediate family on Fourth Ave in New Westminster before we all grew older and went our separate ways. You will be missed! Kate.

Leslie Ann and I were so sorry to hear of Kate’s passing. We were in the same darts league and will always think of her as a vibrant person who was so quick with a smile! Our condolences to all who loved her.
