In Memory of John Peter Albert
JOHN PETER ALBERT (PISTOL PETE)
Peter Albert (69), passed peacefully on July 14, 2020 surrounded by the love of his wife, Kathy; sisters, Nicole, Lise, Tricia; brother, Dan, and godson, Jamie.
Born on June 27, 1951 in Ottawa to parents Roger & Jeannine Albert, Pete was a classic car and sports lover. He continued to play football with his championship team, The F.I.R.M., into his later years. He was the proud owner of F.I.R.M. Inc., and was a respected collections officer and paralegal. Peter enjoyed working with many clients over the years, most notably his longtime client, Welch LLC.
Pistol, as he was known by those closest to him, was a fun-loving man who always offered a helping hand to anyone in need. He could always be seen sharing a smile and heard whistling a tune around the office or at home in his garage. Whenever you would ask Peter how he was doing, he’d answer with a classic Peterism: “Better now that I’m talking to you!” This friendly personality was infectious, and it’s left a lasting impression on the dozens of friends, colleagues and family members he leaves behind.
He’s survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter, Krystal (Tom); expectant grandson; siblings, Nicole (Bob); Lise (Dean), Dan (Kelly), Tricia (Wade), Dennis (Kristine), Ron, Claude, and many nieces and nephews. Peter was preceded in death by his son, Cory.
Due to the Pandemic and loved ones not being able to travel, a formal service will not be held at this time. A celebration of life will be announced in 2021. In the meantime, donations are appreciated to organizations that were important to Peter: Ottawa Heart Institute (www.ottawaheart.ca) and Elizabeth Bruyere (www.bruyere.org).
