In Memory of Joanne Hollington

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Joanne Hollington (nee Brabant) on May 2nd, 2020 at the General Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 62. She leaves behind her loving husband Ken Hollington, her cherished daughters Mélanie (Eryc Ethier), Nadine (Christopher Bergeron) and her two grandchildren, Joshua and Ryan.

Joanne was born in Moose Creek, Ontario, to father Émile Brabant and mother Thérèse Brabant (nee Major, who has predeceased her). She is survived by her sister Ginette and brothers, Yvon (Sylvie), Marc (Karen) as well as many nieces and nephews. Joanne will be fondly remembered by her sisters in law as well as her extended family and friends.

During the years following her cancer diagnosis, Joanne travelled extensively and enjoyed life to the fullest. She was encouraged during those years by the love and support of her family and friends. She was greatly admired and will be missed by all. The family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to the Ottawa General Hospital Oncology department, the staff of 5 east as well as all healthcare providers who cared for Joanne all these years. Due to the circumstances surrounding COVID-19, there will be a private celebration of her life on Saturday, June 13, 2020 at the Heritage Funeral Complex. In memoriam, donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation are appreciated.
