In Memory of Jacques Antoine Dubois
Ottawa – Jacques Antoine Dubois, was born on May 14th, 1948 and was 68 when he died on May 4, 2017 at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa, Canada, following a courageous battle with long illness. His final days were spent surrounded by family and friends.
He leaves behind, his wife Anne-Marie Laguerre Dubois, his children, Dominique, Nathalie, Thessy and Jacques Jr., several grandchildren; and many siblings, cousins, relatives and close friends in Canada, USA and Haiti.
Born and raised in Aquin, Haiti, he left that country and moved to Canada in the late 1980’s. A principle man, a man whose words were his bonds, he never liked to be the center of attention. In his life and now in death, he would not want us to focus on the sadness of his death, but instead focus on the happiness in our lives. He would want us to appreciate each other and our future.
Jacques, a self-learner, a relentless and hard worker and a loyal friend, he excelled at most of anything he got involved in, whether it was making furniture, painting canvas, cooking and sewing for friends and he could accomplish anything he set his mind to do, but his love and passion was for management: management of people and of things and he spent the last 20 years as manager of cleaning services at a local YW-YMCA until he retired four years ago.
Jacques not only took pride in his business but truly relished the friends he made. He was an active member of the church Notre Dame de Lourdes and spent countless hours volunteering.
Jacques, we will always love you and miss you and with so many wonderful memories to hang on to, you were a role model and a great friend.
