In Memory of Irvine Martin King

It is with profound sadness that we share the sudden passing of our beloved father, Irvine Martin King, who left us on December 26th, 2024, at the age of 88. He was surrounded by his family that he so cherished.

Predeceased by his daughter Angela (Eric), his parents Iris and Ezekiel King, and siblings Alva and Mavis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Myrtle and his children; Joan, Yvonne (Nevil), Sonia (Phillip), Rohan (Kelly), Shauna (Daniel), and his sister Eileen.

He is also survived by his grandchildren; Darren (Allyson), Christian (Annette), Jordan, Jamarr (Kelsey), Sherise, Jaylen, Daymon (Alexa), Maya (Davis), Erica, Aydan, Savannah, Isaac and great grandchildren Melya and Brianna. Irvine will be dearly missed by his brothers and sister’s in-law, nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.

Irvine was a kind, and quiet man who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life. His love for carpentry was shared amongst friends and family, as he was known to lend a helping hand to those who required his skills and expertise.

The family will receive friends and relatives on Saturday, January 18th, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the Heritage Funeral Complex, 1250 Trim Road, Orleans, Ontario. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel at 11:00 a.m. followed by the interment and a reception.

Uncle Irv, you taught me a lot in life before I left Jamaica. Every time I came back it was always wonderful to see you & aunty Myrtle! Thank you for what you instilled in me from a young age. I have not forgotten about the orange tree in the back of the house in Jamaica I always climbed after Sunday dinner. Sending my condolences and prayers. Love!

Uncle Irvine, I remember when Angela and I would catch the OC transpo bus to bring you dinner Aunt Myrtle sent for you. I also remember the summers I would spend in Canada when I was out of school. You treated me just like one of your own. You had a quiet strength and a strong love for your family. You will dearly be missed, but we know you are in a good resting place with the Lord.

Our dear Irvine, gone but not forgotten. We will miss you very much. We remember those lovely picnics we had with both adults and children enjoyed very much. Your kindness and warm smiles will always be with us.
